I'd like to get the latest WinXP ResScan software for my S9

Post by alfyj » Wed Jul 13, 2011 6:21 am

Hi,

Can someone clue me in as to how to get the latest ResScan software, so I can view the data stored on the SD card of my new ResMed S9 CPAP? Thanks in advance.

Also, does anyone know what one does if the nose mask does not work for one? With the nose mask (nasal canula?), I wake up with air coming out of my mouth multiple times and end up taking the mask off completely after a couple of hours. I also ended up with an irritated spot in my nose that made me sneeze multiple times a day, and nasal congestion. I am currently taking a break to let my nose rest, while trying to sleep on my side as much as I can.

Also, is the humidifier option worth the hassle of filling it with distilled water every night? Any opinions or personal experience.

I live in Herndon, Virginia, USA, and I got my CPAP through LinCare in Chantilly, VA. I have an App't there this morning to figure out what to do about my problem with the nose mask.

Thanks,

Alfy Johnson

I just read the rest of your questions. It sounds like you are a mouth breather. I know I am . You might have to go with a full face mask. Other options that have worked for people chin straps, taping your mouth shut with blue painters tape and denture tape between your lips to keep them closed.

As for as your nose sores, you can try mole skin or there are nose liners you can get to help with that.

The humidifier is up to you. If you don't wake up with dry mouth or airways then don't use it. It also depends on the humidity you have in your house. Since I am a mouth breather and get dry mouth, I am actually up to a 5 setting. I put distilled water in mine whenever I run out. Usually every two or three days. Many people use tap water and just change it out everyday.

Also go into your profile and let us know what your machine, mask, humidier etc are. Don't use pictures as they can be hard to see for us old people.

I just downloaded ResScan v. 3.14 and the installation instructions say all previous versions must be uninstalled before installing this new version. Has anyone else installed this latest version and if so did it keep the information already downloaded by the old version?

Please acquaint yourself with the search function. There are many options available in the advanced page, and you can keep narrowing the results as needed. What you will find is your questions have been discussed many, many, times before and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of comments related to them. You'll keep yourself quite busy for the next couple of weeks reviewing them, and you will learn a lot. In fact, you will most likely learn more by searching than you would ever get in a couple of dozen answers here in this thread.
