Gassy!!!!!
Gassy!!!!!
Second night on Cpap and I am waking up with a full feeling like a balloon. Very uncomfortable. Gassy and belching (sorry TMI) and it last all day. I am sleeping slightly elevated. Will this go away as I get used to my machine? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks!
Re: Gassy!!!!!
This is normal, mine went away after awhile. Do a search here on the word aerophagia and you will get lots of info.

My first night I was as well, last night was my 4th night, woke up each morning a little better then the day before. From what I hear your body will adjust.

Re: Gassy!!!!!
My personal experience has been, after nearly 4 years on CPAP, that I still wake up each morning full of air that makes me belch as soon as I sit up and again after every bite of breakfast, and even now, as I write this. The rest of the air caught in my intestines, leaks out, at the worst possible times, throughout the day.
In addition, pressurized air passes through me all night as I try to sleep between the periods of noisy exit. This has not changed as I switched from APAP to BiPap ASV.
I certainly hope that my case is far from normal, as I wouldn't wish this on anyone else. (Well, maybe one or two other people )
