Thanks for your response, John. Here are my answers to your questions.

Do you feel as if you are well rested in the morning? No- feel about the same as when I went to bed
Do you feel as if a truck ran over you when you awaken? No
Do you feel somewhere in between the two? Yes
Do you have uncontrolled high blood pressure? usually 140/80- not treated
Do you awaken with headaches? No
Do you have other metabolic problems (overweight, high blood glucose, diabetes, etc.)? 20# overweight
Are you able to sleep well for more than six hours a night? Usually don't wake up. Have no idea about the quality of that sleep other than what my VPAP machine tells me

I'll persue the VCD question at some point. The doctors said my voice is "airy" and "sounds like you're talking through a tube". This problem has existed for a long time and it's somewhat embarrassing to me. I have always presumed it was due to having had many, many sinus surgeries.

The higher blood pressure (especially if you are on blood pressure medication) is a sign that things could be better. In your shoes - with the data you've provided - I would continue to pursue improved sleep. It might not be the source of your problem, but it sure seems to indicate that things could be better.
