Problem

Post by Severeena » Mon Jan 09, 2006 9:13 am

I am now facing a problem that is really bothering me.

I am now suffering with a head cold, nasa, congestion and an achey chest.

I have my APAP set at 11 for my starting pressure. Should I lower the pressure because of my chest hurting me or leave it alone?

Hi Severeena
I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well - and would like to suggest you aske the doctor about your achey chest. I'm no doctor, but there are two things I know that are relevant to what you're describing:

When I used to get respiratory tract infections, - either of the trachea or the bronchi, it would start with an achey chest.

I also remember you have sarcoidosis, which can effect the lungs - another reason to involve a doctor in treating your could.

Take care, and feel well.
O.

Thanks ozij, I am under my PCP's care but made no mention to my question about my APAP pressure. This is one nice thing about APAP, we can change our pressures to fit our needs.

I had been coughing a lot because of my cold and this has caused my chest to hurt.

If it's just sore muscles from coughing then I wouldn't lower the pressure. You probably need it now that you're congested. If you're so sore that you can't sleep with your normal pressure, that's something else of course.

Sleep well!

Thank you ozij and Chelle.

I am starting to feel a little better, but it will take a little time to shake.

One week without treatment and 7 days with.
