cpap machine
cpap machine
I have recently (12.16.05) completed a sleep study & been diagnosed with "Severe Apnea". My insurance does not cover the machine. I have a Prescription. What is the best way to get an inexpensive machine?
I'm a pastor starting a new church and funds are sparse.
Any ideas? Used machines? E-Bay? Here?

Welcome Bruce, I'am glad you found this forum. There is a wealth of information here and many great people willing to share it.
I don't believe you can find cpaps and supplies any less expensive than @ cpap.com. I have just purchased an apap from them plus many masks. Good prices great service.
Good luck
Gary

Greetings and Welcome To CPAPTALK!
You've come at a good time. For $297 you can get a full setup at cpap.com with their "Puritan Bennett Machine and a Free Breeze" promotion.

The advice to go with cpap.com is good, OP (that means "Original Poster," in case you're not familiar ). I would go that route if I were you, as going the auction route can be tricky - you can never quite be sure what condition the equipment will be in, whether it's refurbished, or if it's been damaged in some way. However, if you wanted to go the auction route, you would need to use something like Yahoo! Auctions, as eBay does not permit the sale of CPAP machines or masks.
Take care, OP, and good luck!

I agree with College Girl. Auction sites also do not set up the machine to your pressure, which could be a challenge if you are using straight CPAP and want to make sure it is set accurately. I have completed a lot of business with Johnny and gang and couldn't be happier with their products, prices, and services. And no, I was not planted here just to say that! Actually, I have a new, in box S8 Escape to sell, but as a newcomer, I'd steer you to the pros at cpap.com. But if anyone else wants a backup unit...

From what I have learned here, the folks at cpap.com are a very helpful and dedicated bunch. They have very reasonable prices. And they may be able to handle all the red tape with insurance for those who have it.
I now have 3 cpaps. Will be generous with one is someone is in real need.
puritan Bennett 318 - old but virtually unused. Stayed in closet for years. If anyone knows of someone in need, let moi know-
Santa is in a good mood.

My apologies - I had meant that post to be a private message saying "a typo you might want to correct". Must have pressed the wrong button -
I am such a lousy typist myself - I would never correct anyone in public like that.
O.
