Hypnosis and sleep apnea

Post by Starone » Mon Oct 04, 2010 5:19 pm

Before I decided to make a career in medicine I was a small time stage hypnotist.
Throughtout my youth I have learned the ar of stage hypnosis and hypnotherapy from my friends dad who is a hypnotherapist.
Every morning since I started feeling apnea symptoms I have used self-hypnosis to treat the symptoms. Of course that does not fix the problem but it does give you energy and relieves 100% fatigue.
Once I got a clear diagnosis I use bipap but I still use self hypnosis to make me feel energized and great the whole day

I created this thread for people that have a few days out of a month with bad symptoms. Or for anyone who would like more energy. If you are interested I will share my scrips of hypnosis to help you hypnotize yourself and get rid of the symptoms you may have once a while.

A better use is to help people adapt to their mask and also to deal with the claustrophobia and insomnia. It can take the subconscious up to a month to accept that you won't die and allow you to sleep deeply according to my sleep doctor - which would be another use for hypnosis.

I keep telling people who have these issues to see a hypnotherapist to quick start their therapy. I saw great results that way and also learned how to do it on myself for many small issues. Scripts are great but many people need the "authority" of a face to face with someone to get them to use them. "Yes Ma'am/sir I did them x times a day and once before bed. ( Do I get my star?)"

Interesting... have you gotten to the course where you learn about biofeedback yet? How it can be used to treat various medical problems once a patient learns how to use it?

I did try self-hypnosis years ago, but I fell asleep every time I tried it. (No, I'm not kidding. Same with meditation.)

My problem is NOT claustrophobia or anxiety.
I'm just danged tired of masks that are designed to fit stupid worthless MODELS,
not real, live people with skulls and jawbones that predispose us to have difficulty sleeping properly.
We are beautiful, too; and we are REAL!
--and WE DESERVE A LITTLE RESPECT!
There, now, I've vented--I needed that.

I think the FX mask you use is about the most comfortable one out there, Chunky.

Would you feel more respected if they made a model in green? Swift FX for Frogs?
