Resmed Swift FX - Flex Tube Vent question

Post by bootz » Tue Aug 10, 2010 12:42 pm

In addition to the vents on the elbow, I noticed my Swift FX flex tube has 3 small holes / vents - is this supposed to be the case? This documentation doesn't say anything about vents in the flex tube: http://www.resmed.com/us/assets/documen ... er_eng.pdf

Thanks!

There should not be any holes in your small (short) flex-tube, only the vents in the swivel / elbow.

May I suggest Duct-Tape

This correct but if this is a new mask it may be a manufacturer defect so you could return it or exchange it.

No, I don't have any holes in the tube, except at the elbow.......yet. Yikes, do I have that to look forward to?

I like my s9 but Resmed's hoses suck. My slimLine hose lasted 2 weeks. Don't tell me their FX hose is a piece of crap too.

Sigh, I guess when it rains it pours. Well, at least I found something to use my Gorilla Tape on. I'll wrap the tubing up and ask cpap.com what they can do for me.

bootz, there shouldn't be holes other than the vent.

snoresliketrain, you may be jumping the gun a little. I have been using mine for about 3 months now with no hose problems and others on the board are using it too. I wouldn't worry that it is a "piece of crap" based on one incident.

Check your hose, folks! Only a 90 day warranty. I was told to buy this https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... wivel.html . Only $74, what a bargain!

I'm going to get a hold of Resmed and see if they will help. If not, I guess I can talk to American Express. They usually have some kind of extended warranty policy.
