Reducing Noise in the Swift

Post by Yoga » Mon Nov 01, 2004 11:23 pm

On another forum Snork suggesting using an open foam to reduce the noise of the Swift. We did not have any appropriate foam so we used a small piece of orange colored plastic netting that is used to cover boxes of clementines (a delicious form of tangerines). It only took a piece 1" x 1 3/4" inserted into the tube of the Swift by taking the cap off of the end. It can be removed very easily for washing & replacing. Any sizes of netting larger than that did not allow for proper inhalation & exhalation. It really helps!

I saw that post re: the "open foam" The mesh you are talking about is a great idea. I'll definately try it when i get my swift. Thanks!

Thanks, Yoga for the suggestion! So glad you posted that, as it jogged my memory about snork's suggestion of using foam. I had completely forgotten that.

I'm using a Swift now and really liking it. Am even getting used to the sound of it, which is whooshier than my Breeze. Appreciated the hint. (Yes!! Those little clementines really are good.)

I've found that just rotating the nose piece back and forth you can greatly change the amount of noise from the Swift, too. But I think I'll try the mesh idea, too.
