New Faces to Screen Name Idea

Post by Sleepless on LI » Tue Sep 20, 2005 1:09 pm

I want to take a moment in advance to apologize for SPLATTERING my photo all over this site. R&R had a great suggestion that we should stop posting pictures of pets, etc. and be brave enough to put our faces to our names so we know who we're talking to.

Not a fan of my own photos, I braved it and posted one. Please do not think for one moment it was done out of admiration for my own "beauty" as I am not one who has ever been in love with my looks (just the opposite).

So if you see my photo where my cat's used to be, don't think it was done out of sheer vanity. I just thought he had a great idea and was hoping if I could do it, others might realize surely they could, too.

Hope to see your faces soon, too.

I told Lori she was gorgeous and she does not have to apologise. I think she looks great and hopefully a bunch more of you will follow suite behind her. Now, if the picture she posted a little while back were for real, then...

Changed the photo...hated that one. But, then again, I hate them all. Thanks for the nice words, Bill.

And, R&R, I knew I always liked you...

Feel better behind the Foster Grants...you, Bill and Judy Ann were the only ones who saw the other one before, and I am relieved to be able to hide at least a little bit now.

Well here is my photo... thats my 15 yr old daughter next to me. What little you can see of her. I don't think that i will tell her that I have posted my photo... as this breaks all our "on line" rules.

Have a great day!
Teri

How do you get your picture on these posts? If I can figure that out, and I can find a picture that doesn't make me want to cry, I'll be brave and add my face (consider it my "before" picture).

Lori, please post one without the glasses....we really can't see you behind the Jackie'Os.

Hi Amy,

Here are the instructions that were posted on the message, Avitars. I am somewhat challenged when it comes to technology, so if I can do you can!
Good luck,
Teri

"For Avatars you take take any photo file on your computer, open it in whatever photo editing program you have, go to resize and choose pixels versus inches, etc. Size must be no higher or wider than 80 pixels. Reduce the resolution if you can to 72 dpi. Save the file as xavatar.jpg/gif and then go to Profile at the top of the page on Cpaptalk.com. This will open up your Profile. Scroll down to nearly the bottom of the page and there will be a window where you can browse your C drive to find the file (you DO remember where you saved it, right?), click on that and it will show the file path in the window. Scroll further down and click Submit and that's all there is to it."

Teri, I can't believe you are old enough to have a 15-year old of your own! CPAP treatment not only makes us feel younger, it makes some look younger it seems.

Thanks Bill, thats very sweet! Actually the photo is a couple of years old. I really do look my age... i just "enhance" my hair. Don't confuse that with coloring though!

Such pretty women on this forum, I bet there is a bunch of others. I think it's great that we are getting a responce to this. We tell each other our lifes secrets, why not let each other see whatg we all look like.

Teri,

I had to laugh when I read those instructions you gave Amy. If you saw the ones I PM'd her, you'd know why. If she's done reading them by now, I'd be surprised. They must be a page and a half long. Do I ever write anything quckly? Don't answer that, please...

Amy,

This was last November, prior to CPAP, at the airport, waiting to fly down to see my parents in FL. Can you tell how exhausted I was there? I think that's probably why I wasn't smiling. Hardly could muster up enough energy to do so back then...but thanks. It will be great to see you, too...hope you get the photo working.
