Curious about gender of hose-heads - edited as suggested

Post by 2flamingos » Wed Aug 26, 2009 11:53 am

Not really sure why, but I am curious. I think it is because most people associate OSA with men, and I think dispelling that misconception could help a lot of people.

Edited to include other options as suggested! I was afraid I would offend some if I had put in all the options that I thought about.

Sorry, previous answers were deleted when poll was edited.

What about the people who have N/A in their profile?

as a N/A - well yeah --------- I am one of the two choices and I do have equipment but it isn't listed either and people tend to not give me flack about that even though they harass the newbies on it

but what about those ppl who have generic issues or have done a transgender operation to change, let alone all the cross dressers

Understand! I've heard it said the typical OSA patient is male and obese....but I'm living proof there are plenty outside the "norm". I'm 49, female, and have a normal body weight. Go figure! I think it's my soft palate and genetically narrow airway! Drew the short straw!

What about bi-papers.
Mseries/Resmed, I can go either way.

Sorry, Jules. We'll all try to give you more flack.

I think maybe they harass the newbies about listing equipment because they figure it will help people give them help? Just guessing. And maybe they just figure the newbie forgot on the gender listing and they are trying to avoid pronoun issues. Not as bad as Spanish, but English can be rough that way.

And how do I know if I have a "generic issue"? Is that like when I just have issues about whatever the current issue is, regardless of brand? (See, I told you I'd try to give you more flack.)

Yes sir, or madam, as the case may be. I will.

Fun poll.

jeff

ps- as of 16 votes, the males and females are neck and neck.

Edit was to correct one of my misssspells (harrass). My lack of spelling ability is genetic.

How do I cast a vote? When I clicked on the topic, I got the results, not a choice....

but but but ......

this gets into another beef of mine here

I wish everyone was N/A - (or even M) - well not really but ............ I can't block the f...ing hot pink F's in people's profiles - or at least my computer skills are such that I can't. Hot pink is a headache trigger for me as are some of the moving icons. I have posted about that before. Hence I don't look at genders in profile - just mentally block out that spot as best I can.

I can block hot pink fonts in messages with settings in the browser or in "accessibility options" in control panel - i can be blind here on not knowing where the quote and edit and delete buttons are by having accessibility options on (which I prefer to do) but I can't block those F's for love or money

I wish johnny had never allowed that change or would switch back to having everyone N/A (which was what we were before the forum software switch a year ago as gender wasn't available)

Off topic - Jules, do you think a special pair of computer glasses might help keep your headaches at bay? Maybe something like those "blue blocker" sunglasses?

Just a thought.....

Can I chose "multiple" for my gender?

Cheers,
B.

Julies, have you been to Ranchhouse Barbecue yet? I think it's on the road between you and Lacey. BF and I are regulars. We go the long way to everything in order to stop there.

http://www.ranchhousebbq.net/

I recommend the full rack of pork ribs. Best thing on the menu. Get it with Coleslaw and a tiny side dinner salad. Salad isn't on the list, but they will do it for you. Then get the Blue Cheese Dressing. Then ask for an extra plate. Now mix the coleslaw (vinegarette dressing, not traditional mayo dressing) on the plate with the dinner salad. Add blue cheese dressing. DELICIOUS and totally cuts the ribs just perfectly. You don't feel so overfull after a eating that whole rack of ribs, like you do if you add potato salad, beans, fries, etc.

BTW, the owner is a Woman. Does that count on the gender poll? I have no idea if she has sleep apnea, however.

LOL,
B.

We are meeting my BIL and his wife for lunch downtown Oly. I have another appt that afternoon. I have heard of the place you mentioned. I am sure there will be a time we hit it but right now I haven't seen either BIL or his wife for over a year and they picked the place based on being close to where I have to be Friday afternoon. For someone who hasn't been out of this county and rarely more than a mile away from the water, i am anticipating several trips to that inland heavily polluted area you live in.
