Chubby Cheeks question

Post by izzyb » Tue Jan 20, 2009 8:22 am

Speaking of full, round faces - I have one too. I tried the Mirage Quatro and it wouldn't work because of that. It seemed to be made really weird in the cheek area. I am using the Ultra Mirage now and it is okay, but I would like to try something else in hopes of getting that "perfect" fit. So my question is can anyone suggest a mask that works best for chubby checks? I also have a problem with the length of the mask. The x-small Mirage Quatro was perfect in length even though it didn't fit in the cheek area, but the Ultra Mirage doesn't come in x-small so it is a little too long. I don't know why they don't make all masks in all sizes. Thanks.
I posted this in another thread but didn't get any responses. Thought I'd try another thread.

The Activa seals to just about any face, (or anything really.) So it would be perfect. EXCEPT for the fact that it's made for big burly men, I think! It's really big.
It seals so well, you almost don't even need the headgear. You could get a shallow cushion in the small, and I bet it would work for you.
There are tons of posts on the Activa and the way it fits.
All the best to you!

I also like the activa mask, but find it to be too long. But I just came from the resmed web site and it seems that they have come out with an activa LT that has a smaller foot print. Cpap.com does not seem to have it yet, but I did e-mail them about it. I think that this may be a winner!

Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like neither the Activa or Swift are full face masks. I've never tried the pillows, but I don't think I would like them. I had a nasal in the beginning, but I prefer the full face. They are harder to keep sealed though with all that surface they are covering.

I have some really chubby cheeks! The F&P 431 worked really well and is a full face.

I have chubby cheeks, too, and the 431 literally tore my face up. That is the only mask that makes me shudder everytime I see someone mention it. lol. If it's comforting at all, though, I've never read anyone else saying that it did the same thing to them. So I'm probably just weird.
