Silverlining Leak Rate
Silverlining Leak Rate
Can someone explain how to interpret the leak rate numbers in Silverlining? I'm used to Respironics giving the complete number (eg: 32) from which I subtract the mask mfg recommended number for my pressure. But Silverlining shows 0.4 or 0.5 consistently, despite that the PB 420E does not know what mask I am using.
DeVilbiss IntelliPap Std Plus with Smartflex; Transcend miniCPAP & Everest2 w/humidifier & batt for travel. UltraMirage FFM; PadACheeks; PaPillow. Using straight CPAP at 13.0/passover humidifier. AHI consistently < 1.5. Began CPAP 9/4/08.
Re: Silverlining Leak Rate
SilverLining reports the leaks in liters per second, l/s. In order to get the number in liters per minute, you have to multiply it by 60.

Re: Silverlining Leak Rate
Well I was pretty sure I remembered your saying that at some point, OziJ, but the resulting number (24) just does not correspond to the consistent number (32) that I get at same pressure with same mask, using my Respironics APAP. How can there be that much discrepancy, I wonder? On the other hand, my AHI's are generaly lower on the 420E than with the Respironics, all other things being equal (no flex, same pressure range apap). Re: Silverlining Leak Rate
Any thoughts on this? Perhaps I just do better on the 420E? Wish I understood it better.

Re: Silverlining Leak Rate
If you're wondering about the numerical differnce - 0.4 or 0.5 x 60 vs. 32, then I think we can chalk it up to unreliable measurement - and - feeling_better has been tracking that issue, see ]A detailed investigation into leak data reports[/b] for instance.
