SURVEY - PurSleep Aromatics for Free Samples

Post by SleepGuy » Sat Oct 18, 2008 12:14 pm

I'm scaling up to produce free PurSleep product samples for placement with new patients during the xPAP setup process.

I would like to select 3 or 4 aromatics to include in the sample kit and would really like some help selecting which ones people think would most likely appeal to the largest number of people. Individual likes and dislikes for smells vary widely and I'm trying to come up with the best combination where at least one of the flavors will likely appeal to any given person.

My personal choices would be Clear, Spice, Peace, and possibly Calm (though that may not exactly be a favorite across the board).

Your feedback is very much appreciated to help guide decisions and help me avoid making less than optimum decisions in the process.

Please make four selections!

This cements my belief that I am the only person who likes Rosa best.
Have you always wanted to try the Liberty? Test drive it here!

And I was wondering whether anyone would notice the omission.... The survey only allows 10 choices so please use the boards to

Write In Your Favorite Candidate!

One vote for Rosa.

I thought that clear or fresh or one of them didn't "sample" well.

I like French Vanilla because it's a very unobtrusive smell. If you're going to package 4, I'd suggest the lightest scent, the heaviest scent, a medium scent, and an "air candy" scent. This would help show the "spectrum" available.

Thanks to those who voted on this one. I would appreciate any additional input because the time has come to make an executive decision about the lucky three or four flavors for the free samples for new patients.

My current thinking is to include 4 samples:

Clear (peppermint + lime)
Peace (lavender + )
Spice (orange + clove + bay rum)

and probably Calm (eucalyptus + lavender)

Sinus congestion being such a common problem, I find that both Clear and Calm are excellent solutions so I'd like to include both. Calm is also quite a bit like Vics except it does NOT have camphor (it's way too harsh for me).

Spice got the most votes here and is very popular based on feedback and sales.

Peace is not my personal favorite but based on feedback (and sales) is also very popular.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have a ResMed Escape with humidifier. Do these PurSleep Aromatics work in this machine? If so, the eucalyptus sounds like a great smell.

Library Teacher - You don't use the scents IN the machine. You place them OUTSIDE your machine, on the table, near your air intake, so that the machine draws the scent in.

You can use these with any machine. However, those of us with Respironics M Series have yet to figure out how to use them with the Whisper Cap.

Lucky me - I don't use the Whisper Cap.

SleepGuy, when you develop your sample packs, let me know if I can buy some in quantity. I'm trying to think how to "sample" Pur Sleep to my NAII Test Drivers. So far, including a bottle and a pad in a ziploc bag in the Test Drive box has been a bad idea - the scent migrated onto the mask and at least one test driver found that obnoxious.

For now, I'm thinking of just NOT including the sample. But I like the idea of adding it too, so...

Another idea, from another test driver, was to encase the bottle and pad in a plastic box, rather than a plastic bag. Have you found an airtight box yet that might work for this? I thought about a prescription medication bottle. I might have to go to the local kitchen store and contemplate airtight containers for awhile.

Cheers,
Babs

Aw shucks, we're all newbies of one sort or another. Welcome aboard! Lots of librarians here, and lots of school personnel of all kinds. I'm a District secretary up in Washington State.

Cheers,
Barbara

Spice for sure! After that, maybe the French Vanilla. The Calm and Peace......welllllllll, ok. How bout some Paradise, though? That stuff is da bomb! Also, maybe a little paper with combinations would help. I know I printed on out from a long-ago posting, but an update would be great.

SNORT! You WILL be trying it shortly. I put a sample of it in the box that's on it's way to you right now. It sorta permeated everything, I've been told.

Cheers,
B.

I'm currently using PEACE... but I will try the French Vanilla next -- Vanilla is a very calming scent, and in point of fact, I took a gauze pad and dampened it with vanilla extract and set it on a dish near the intake until I could make up my mind whether I wanted to try them... and then the trial got taken out of my hands 'cause I got an early Christmas present of the starter kit!

Needless to say, the vanilla extract was very mild compared to an essential oil, but it did help....

BTW, I have one serious problem: the Dachshund Duo think the scents are wonderful, and I keep having to find places to hide the bottles. The Great Galoot managed to get the sample envelope you sent me and broke the sample containers (luckily without getting glass or plastic in his mouth). Want an interesting scent? Try half a dozen samples mixed randomly together....
