I finally have the 3.5 software for my new ResMed S8 Autoset II and now I need the Card Reader. The one I have seen recommended is the ACR-38. I believe it is made by Advanced Card Systems Ltd. and sold by ResMed as their part #22207. I looked at ACS other readers and found an ACR-38T-IBS and an ACR-38DT at http://www.acs.com.hk/pc-linked-smart-card-readers.php
Does anyone have any experience with these alternate readers?

Re: ResMed S8 Autoset Card Reader
The 38T and 38DT are readers for SIM sized Smartcards and are not suitable for reading the ResScan card, which is basically a just narrow version of a full sized SmartCard.Engransan wrote:I looked at ACS other readers and found an ACR-38T-IBS and an ACR-38DT at http://www.acs.com.hk/pc-linked-smart-card-readers.php

If you want to buy a standard ACR38 reader you will need to figure out your own card guide arrangements to align the ResScan card with the contacts in the full sized reader slot. Its not hard to do and you can easily make a card guide from an old credit card (or similar).

Cheers,
Bill
Just spend the $75 for the Resmed card reader.

Re: ResMed S8 Autoset Card Reader
Bill (or anyone else) - can you give me the measurements of your adapter? I just ordered an ACR38 and I hope to use it to read the SmartCard from my ResMed.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Allow me to answer my own question - here is the measurement info for the alignment guide:ftw23 wrote:Bill (or anyone else) - can you give me the measurements of your adapter? I just ordered an ACR38 and I hope to use it to read the SmartCard from my ResMed.
