No, Silverlining software is Puritan Bennett's software.
Resmed's software is ResScan. The current version needed for Vista compatiblity is ResScan 3.5 but I believe that ResScan 3.4 is compatible w/the S8 IIs.
Whilst my new Resmed VPAP Auto bi-level does not say it is an S8 II, it is in the S8 body (and near as I can tell there is no difference in the S8 and S8 II bodies), it uses the Humidaire 3i integrated humidifier (the previous Resmed bi-level is in the S7 body and uses the Humidaire 2i integrated humidifier) and it has the EasyBreathe techonology of the S8 IIs and my VPAP Auto is well supported by the ResScan 3.4 software.
dr gave prescription for 1 month trial on BiPAP

This is what I thought yesterday but I needed to confirm it before posting. So much for using this machine to find out how you are doing. The data appears to be about as useless as putting a module on the M series Bipap Plus.

The 425 will not give you detailed data when downloading.

The 425 will give you lots of infromation about respiratory rate, and the % of time spent without respiratory cycles. This could be the kind of info the doctor needs in your case. The PB 425 also has a lot fine tuning options.PB 425 exported data wrote:Respiratory Cycles

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.

Well...I don't pretend to understand all those numbers but it looks impressive! I'll hafta look at that again when I've gotten some sleep. Can't concentrate right now. The DME said I can bring in the machine and he will print me up a report when I want one. We have a Mac so I don't think I can use the software. Glad it looks like it gives some data. Well...I am going to give this machine a try. This should be interesting!

what does bpm stand for (for the Percent cycle #bpm)? (I keep forgetting to login when I reply *blush*) I'm assuming the % time at real pressure would be where you could tell if there are leaks? I think the dr chose this one because there are so many ways to configure the sensitivities (I know that's not the proper term!).

Since its the Respiratory Rate I would say bpm = breaths per minute.
If it were regarding the Heart Rate bpm = beats per minute.

Bi-Level causing apneas?
I have UARS (not apnea) and I have found sometimes I wake up thinking I have not been breathing and really needing a breathe. I thought I had read somewhere that sometimes PAP machines can cause apneas where there were none before (I would assume temporarily or until the settings are correct). Has anyone ever heard of this?
