Ok, I am in the same boat as some of the others I have read on here lately as far as starting to feel great with CPAP then all of a sudden feeling tired and all again. I have an appt soon and will investigate that lol but for now. with this being tired I am sleeping about 8 hrs a night with the cpap and then a couple hrs during the day is that too muchlike I might take an hr or two nap during the day??
Can you sleep too much with the CPAP?

Hi
When I sleep, I sleep for nearly 10 hours on cpap, sleep less then that and I am often tired and groggy and want to sleep more!!!! I hate it when it decides to shut off on me without warning! Awwww......*&^%^$!
[smart start feature on cpap]
I am often tired and need alot of sleep to help me few fresh, get up at some unreasonable hour ie:05:30 am and I am often tired and want to sleep more. Sleep without cpap and I find I just can't wake up!!!!

I do not believe there is such a thing as sleeping too much. From what I've read your body sleeps for the time it needs. If you don't sleep as much as you need then you feel tired during the day.
The XPAP is only keeping your airway open and enabling your body to remain asleep, and to go into the deep REM sleep that it needs, for as long as it needs. It's not forcing your body to sleep.

Try searching on "sleep debt". It's a tad controversial as to whether or not it really exists, but if it does (and I do believe it does!), it can explain why we're sleeping more.
