wear a Respironics

++++++++++=

Hi. Thanks.

I have liked the mask for some reasons, but lately it's just been bugging me. It's an "awareness" problem. IOW, I become "aware" of it too often.

I'm now waking up three, four and five times a night, "aware of it" for one reason or another. Itchy nose, tube in odd position, getting rubbed in the face, etc. I'm just hoping there is an alternative.

I guess the "eternal" quest is on........

SAS,

You mention tube in odd position. Do you route the tube up over your head for comfortable turning? That is the "little trick" that helped me be the most comfortable sleeping with any mask. I do have the itchy nose at least once a night, but I don't think I can blame it on my mask. I think it is my summer allergies. Let us know if you need mask routing over the head instructions.

You know, I thought of that. A little velcrow should hold it in place.

I may try that...........

I stopped using the top strap all together. I just put the 2 straps together and put them around my head. Think of when you were 13 and had braces and you had to wear the "headgear" attached to your braces - the strap went around the back of your head and attached to the braces. That is exactly how I wear mine - no problem.

Face it, no one is going to invent the "PERFECT" mask with "PERFECT" headgear that works for everyone......they would put themselves out of business. They are car salesmen, only they are selling masks. No insult intended!

True, but if Respironics has suddenly come out with a new design for the headgear for a new mask they just barely finished introducing, that sure sounds like the feedback they've been getting from DMEs, sleep labs, etc. has likely been, "There's a big problem getting this mask to fit right on most of our patients."

A company doesn't redesign the headgear of a new mask this soon just to perfect it a bit more for us.

I received my new improved headgear today in the mail. I never ask for it. Mine came from Respironics. I am looking forward to seeing if the seal is even better than the older one th

Update: Haven't heard anything back from Respironics. Hope to tomorrow, but the folks that are in the know are out in Denver. Maybe Johnny can ask?

I register my mask.(by postcard) I bought my mask online..The letter that was sent with the headgear said it was a gift as a result of customer feedback. It really does have a more secured fit than the old headgear.

Ah yes, but the point is who has not made adjustments to the headgear of other new masks? Rested Gal, I believe that you yourself made considerable adjustments to the aura when it was brand new. If I recall correctly you have posted fixes for several other masks. They all brag and make the same claim. I mean really .....do we expect them to say "Our product sucks!" It is all a personal issue......how hard are you willing to try and make a particular mask work. It depends on a lot of factors. Obviously Resperonics tested this particular mask on people with heads the size of peas. But many of us are in a desperate search for a mask that does not obstruct our vision. We all have our likes and dislikes. Personally, I dislike them all. Have not yet finished my quest. My option is to settle for the one with the least annoyance factor for me. I mean really, what is "NORMAL" about sleeping in a mask? If I wanted to sleep in a mask, I would have grown up to be Batman, Zorro.........Catwoman would be good - she has a great body and gets to wear that "Catsuit" that everyone loves!

Greetings From Denver

Greetings from the Denver APSS,

I'd like to clear up some misinformation posted to this thread.

False: The ComfortCurve headgear is inadequate or defective. Respironics didn't do enough testing or could have done better on the first run.

Truth: The ComfortCurve is a completely new mask concept that was tested on a large number of users. It's headgear works great for the vast majority of users. Respironics continues to push on towards excellence, in this case by producing an improved headgear that should work on an even larger number of facial types and structures.

False: Respironics is providing this headgear to current ComfortCurve users for free through providers.

Truth: As a thank you for providing Respironics with feedback, users who registered their product were sent a new version headgear, free of charge. Some of the posts on this thread risk turning an act of good faith and genuine concern for patient comfort into a black mark for Respironics. This is unfortunate and undeserved.

If you purchased your ComfortCurve from cpap.com and would like the new version headgear, call or email us and let us know. We will put you on a list and ship you the new version headgear, free of charge, when we get them in.

I doubt you will see many providers carrying the new version headgears in the near future. We are not expecting them in for 1-2 weeks.

Johnny

We have spoken to Justin Crout, the ComfortCurve product manager and have arranged a special option for our customers. Okay folks here is just how good our Host is. I had ordered my ComfortCurve from another supplier before I found CPAP.com. For a mere $25.95 plus shipping an handling I can get the new headgear for my ComfortCurve.

Guess some of you are so lucky to have a supplier that understands true customer service. Wish I was as fortunate.

Now I am hesitant to fork out the money to try and make this interface finally work for me. It may be the answer to finding that dream interface but now feel like I will be throwing good money after bad.

Might not be in your best interest Johnny but the next time you talk to Respironics you might want to mention that there are some poor unfornutate souls out here that need the new headgear regardless of the fact we used the wrong suppliers.

Very envious of you CPAP.com ComfortCurve customers

So is it true, if you registered your Comfort Curve, they will be mailing you a replacment headgear at no charge?

I didn't mail mine in but if I do now, do you think they would send me a new one. I guess it shows you should fill out and mail those cards in...
