Purchase CPAP from HMO's DME vs. internet

I called my insurance company today and asked if they would reimburse me for their 50% if I purchased my machine off the internet vs. their "approved" DME. Well, I had to leave my request on someone's machine in the "medical management" department. I'm waiting on a response. My half of a "new machine" via the DME is $750ish. Shoot, a machine on the web is less than my half. Has anyone had to "argue" with their HMO about where they purchase a CPAP? Thanks!

Sometimes it's just better if you skip the HMO and buy from a online retailer like our host. It will most likely cost you less in the long run(from what you say your copays are). Less hassels and headache. But if you like to make endless phone calls and talk till you are blue in the face, you might want to try and make them see the common sense in it.
