Suggestions for Ultra Mirage FF

Post by sleepfan » Sat Dec 15, 2007 5:24 pm

I just bought a Resmed Ultra Mirage Full Face Mask from you.
Unfortunately it blows air out of the front of the mask at the nose bridge
exhaust valve which my wife finds to be very cold and annoying.

I would assume others have had similar complaints.

I noticed that there may be a place to clip something onto the head
gear which would enable the air exhaust stream to be deflected... Do you
have any idea where I might purchase such a deflector?

Probably depends on how you're positioning your head/face in relationship to her.
The exhaust blows at an upwards angle from the vent and should NOT be blowing into her face if you two are face to face.
I deliberately try to tip my face upwards a bit, which also positions the neck to minimize restrictions on the neck/windpipe.....and in doing so, the air blows above my wife's head and doesn't seem to be hitting her anywhere. (I check it occasionally if I wake up during the night)

If you're tilting your head downwards, I can see how that might be a problem. A "fix" that someone mentioned once upon a time is to put something between your two pillows that would act as a barrier.....something like another pillow or piece of foam (in a vertical position).

I have seen others suggest a pillow or similar small object between your heads so she isn't subjected to the breese.
