Opus leaks - help!

Post by onecoknower » Fri Oct 19, 2007 2:22 pm

I received the opus the other day and I love the small footprint. I'm a side sleeper and have been looking for something that won't get dislodged as I toss and turn. Here's my problem - I'm currently using the small pillows and they seal well at first. But after an hour or so I can start to feel leaks around my nostrils. I'm going to try the mediums tonight, but when I "tested" them they felt too big.

Anyone find a good solution to this problem?

Thanks!

Be sure to remove any facial oils from your nares (try astringent). Wash oils from silicone pillows daily w/ soapy water. Not over tighten the straps ... and this thread may or may not help you out:

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

I started out with mediums and they leaked. When I moved to large it solved the problem. As long as the hole in them isn't too big for your nostrils you should be okay with a larger size. In fact the bigger size will help keep it from going into your nose. Remember don't do the straps too tight. I actually have the pillows agaisnt my pillow and sort of snuggle my nostrils into it.

Love this mask.

Thanks, DreamStalker!

That link and the photos were very helpful. I have an Opus sitting around. I couldn't bear to get rid of it because I love the concept and it's so light and easy. I just couldn't seem to get past the leaks. I'm going to try your fix with the velcro.

I don't know how I would have survived cpap therapy without all of the great advice on this forum.

Thanks for the tips! I switched to the medium pillows last night and used the dental floss trick. Excellent! I might try the velcro trick, too.
