Hey everyone:
Can't seem to log in anymore, but anyways, I'd like to give a little progress report after being on CPAP for a year and half now.
I've been taking medication for high blood pressure for almost 7 years. I had my annual physical last night, and the doctor told me that my blood pressure was TOO LOW! and that I should stop taking the medication.
I attribute this to being on CPAP. In the last year I have lost 12 lbs. (tho not heavy to begin with, 175 lbs., 6'0 tall). Whereas, I used to take a 20 minute nap after lunch, I now take a 20 minute walk. I use to get up 1 or 2 times a night to pee, have slept thru almost every night since starting the treatment. Haven't had a cold since I started (don't know if this is related or not to treatment). Also take the dog out for a walk every morning at 6:30 for 20 mins. and also for a half-hour in evening; definitely have more energy than I have had for years. Stick with the program, it will really pay off in the end! I'm living proof (hope to be so for many years ,too!)
Good luck to all my fellow hoseheads!!
Steve.

Steve,
That is wonderful. Congrats on being able to stop the bp med. At my dr visit last month, my blood pressure was too low as well. I am on three bp meds. They cut one in half. I'm hoping eventually I'll be able to get off all of them. I also lost some weight. I need to lose more, but I think the cpap is definitely making a difference. I have been on cpap 21 months.
I wish you continued success and health.
