Remstar Auto data missing

Post by puffing billy » Fri Feb 16, 2007 2:24 pm

I downloaded my data today and again I am missing up to four days of data this happens regularly.
But it does record 100% usage within the time period with the correct hours.
I know this has been raised before.

Does anyone have a fix for this problem?

Although I dont need the data as my AHI is around the 1 mark, I do like to have things that work properly.

Billy,

When I finish downloading my card, a window pops up asking if I want to save or erase the card. I always choose "save". You're not erasing the card are you? If that's not it, I can't imagine where it could go.

There is currently no known fix for this problem. The only suggestion that I have is that erasing the card after each download seems to improve the odds that this won't happen.

There are four parts to the equasion, the XPAP, the card, the reader and the software, any one could cause the problem. That makes it hard to pin down. I got a second machine and a second reader, and a second computer, but I don't have a problem with reading the card. But I am ready.

Last night, I lost power and had to restart my machine and it messed up the readout. (Put it in two days) in Encore Pro, But jskinner's program saw it correctly as one day. Jim

Billy,

How often are you downloading? From your post, it doesn't sound like you're downloading every day.......

Yeah I have seen Encore Pro do that too. Sometimes Encore Pro breaks the read out based on sessions, its annoying. In EPA I base it entirely on session start time being between a time range. I think that makes more sense.

i agree with the expert views of JSkinner, that one could possibly erase the card after every down load. I did so, and i am now having better results. Is Respironics aware of this problem and surely they must be doing something to resolve the matter in their software or in the remstar auto m series machines.

Further, the demographic screen of encore pro has a start of the day square. the default time is 12 pm. i am sleeping every night at 10 pm. could the learned Members of this forum advise, what is the best time i shoud insert in the demographic screen as the start of the day time.

Billy,

That explains why you're losing data. The cards will only hold about 6 or 7 days of detailed data. If you go past that, it'll overwrite the oldest data. Your profile shows that you're using a "classic" (tank) Auto, so the problems of the M Series machines (dropping a couple of nights after about 6) wouldn't affect your machine.
My recommendation would be to not let the download period exceed 6 days/nights worth. Then you should be OK.

Best wishes,

Den
