everything starts off fine and later on I waker up with one of he pillows leaking
It's possible the pillows are not adjusted far enough upwards. They should be against the nostrils so that they are compressed to one half or one quarter of their relaxed size.

OK I spent most of last night wrestling with this X30I,,, changing sizes, of everything trying to find one that will not make hissing noises and constantly leak...

I make more calls yesterday with nothing good happening....
There was vibration sound coming from both sides of the head gear. If I pushed in on both sides the noise quit but the pressure went down
in the nose pillows - which of course makes sense
Somewhere around 3:30 ish I began moving my fingers under and around the edges of the mask and everywhere else......

Once again I turn off the resmed 11 took everything apart and put it back together with the parts I have always figured to be the ones needed for my best fit.

Turn it back on and like always nice and quiet no sound for a few minutes and then it started up again. I ran my fingers under and around the outside of the oral cushion , pulling the edge out and up and letting it snap back and magically all sound quit it function well perfectly.
I managed to get about 3 hours of sleep with out leaks......

I sue hope whatever it was is now gone forever...

I do like the mask, just not the hassle :D

I bought one of these masks. So far it was a mistake. For me it is a leak machine.

I use a large pillow with the P10. The large pillow with the X30i will not work for me, seems to fit until mask pressures up, then leaks. I switched to the medium pillow which seems too small, but does not leak...yet. When tightening the mask it almost enters the nares.

I have a beard. To tighten the mask so as to not leak, it is painful. When tightened to the point I can hear and feel no leaks, Oscar tells me that I have at least a constant 40 l/min large leak. I have a number of different masks and none of them do this. If you have a beard, maybe forget this mask. YMMV.

My understanding is that this mask and the F30i have the same frame, so I intend to change out the cushion on the X30i with a F30i cushion. I will then be the proud owner of two F30i masks. :D

Using one myself and so far not that pleased...especially when you factor in the cost. I am a mouth breather who cannot tolerate a full face mask so wanted to give this a try. Prefer nasal pillows and since not a fan of full face masks decided why not give it a go. But I cannot get it to stop leaking or for lack of better words farting out at the sides of the mask. Being a mouth breather how are you supposed to use this mask. Not so bad when my mouth is closed but when it opens the pressure inside the mask causes leaks and mask farting. No leaks from the pillows. What gives ? Any insight on how to stop this ? Really want to like this mask. My go to's are usually the Dream Wear, P10 or F&P Nova with a AC VAuto @ 9.2 Epap / 16 Ipap / 4.2 PS.

I can confirm that the F30i and X30i use the same frame.

With these nasal masks, what are you doing about mouth-breathing? Maybe taping?

Not a fan of mouth taping, but thank you for the reply and suggestion. I am not a constant all night mouth breather. But on the occasion that when it does open the pressure inside the mask causes air (farting) from the sides of the mask. How are you supposed to use this mask or the purpose of if you cannot open your mouth at all ? Tried the F40 as well with the same results.

Cervical collar. It will maintain a chin up posture. I would bet your chin is dropping when you fall into deep sleep. Mouth opens and causes leaks.
You ever wake up with bottom of mask in or almost in your mouth?

JPB

PS: I am talking cervical collar with full face mask. Pillow mask is different story. You will still breath through teeth, even with collar.

Again, thanks for the reply and suggestions. Not a fan of cervical collars either. The more minimalistic things are the better. Realize that does not leave me with much options. In the interim I have been training my tongue to stay grooved in the roof of my mouth. Just trying to fathom why these masks leak air (fart) from the sides. My pressure is not high !

We have given you answers. Sometimes "The more minimalistic things are the better" will not cut it.

Good luck. You're gonna' need it.
