Dry mouth
Started my cpap journey 5 months ago with Airtouch N20 + mouth tape, no dry mouth. Recently switched to Evora full face, maintaining a leak-free seal, but battling very dry mouth despite tube temp at 29°C, humidity at 5! What gives?

Re: Dry mouth
These humidifiers weren't ever designed to re-hydrate the oral cavity. They were designed to hydrate the nasal mucosa.
So even if you were to max out the humidity setting there is no guarantee that it will be enough to re-hydrate the oral cavity to achieve the comfort we wish for. The oral cavity is simply a much larger cavity to try to re-hydrate.
Some people just get a drier mouth than others for any number of reasons.
Mouth breathing...even with using max humidity and full face mask....can really dry out a person's mouth.
It's why some people tape their mouths (or use some other measure to keep mouth closed) to avoid dry mouth issues.
You might try increasing the humidity setting and see if that helps or not.

Re: Dry mouth
I switched to a full face mask because of a deviated septum and nasal congestion. While it has improved my breathing, and I no longer feel like I'm suffocating as I did with the AirTouch N20 with tape on my mouth, I'm now grappling with the bothersome issue of dry mouth waking me up and seriously concerned about my teeth.Pugsy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 20, 2023 6:41 amThese humidifiers weren't ever designed to re-hydrate the oral cavity. Re: Dry mouth
Dry mouth is a common complaint and many people prefer to use something like Xylimets as a moisturizing agent.
Lots of forum members use it.
While we can try adding more humidity to the air coming from the machine it isn't always effective or perhaps the person just don't want more humidified air. Worth trying though. Doesn't cost anything.
I understand your dental and comfort concerns....you do have options available to try to relieve your concerns.
You aren't alone though.
