running 2 cpaps on one deep cycle battery

Post by waterlly1215 » Tue Oct 03, 2023 2:10 pm

My husband and I both use cpaps and trying to come up with the best way to run them off grid while camping for a weekend. We are thinking of using a deep cycle battery with a DC-to-DC converter for ResMed Airsense 10, and a cable adapter to connect DCto-DC converter to a battery. We see that will work for 1 cpap. If we were to use a 12V or 24V dual outlet lighter adapter between those, would it work?

I can't quite read the numbers on the spec sheet you included. Just make sure the power ratings are enough to handle both. If you are using a converter from the manufacturer designed to run one machine, it's unlikely it would handle two.

45 views and only 1 reply so here goes.

You don't give a lot on info. The splitter should work just make sure your battery is big enuff or get two so you can charge one while using the other.

If carrying is not a problem go with a 100A.

Also make sure you charge any new battery BEFORE use - you have no clue how long it sat on the shelf.

Also 2 - make sure you try whatever you decide on at home first.

Also 3 - bring spare fuses.

Have fun.

24 volts? You'd have to connect two 12vdc batteries in series to come up with 24vdc. Why?

That should work. For estimates of battery capacity requirements, see the tables in https://document.resmed.com/en-us/docum ... lo_eng.pdf

Nope. They have the ResMed converter for converting 12v DC to 24v DC. (ResMed machines require 24V.)
