M Series VS. Tank
For me, I would be afraid that I would forget to empty the M humidifier while traveling.
With my Classic, I separate the machine and humidifier before it goes into the travel bag. And even then one time I forgot to empty the humidifier and messed up my Classic.
So, if I couldn't see the M humidifier and the water, I just know I would forget to empty it. Beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Travelling isn't important, as that doesn't apply to me.
Size isn't important either.
I was just curious if there were some hardcore advantages/disadvantages to one vs the other.
I'm liking the fact that the M series gives some data on the lcd. Thats means i can always purchase software later.
Keep the opinions coming, Uncle Sam won't be depositing my money for a couple more days... and I can't order until he does that.

Actually, Lyza, the one thing I DON'T like about my M-Series is the LCD readout. It doesn't have a back light, which is a major disappointment. A lot of times, I check my data before going to bed. Before I had my software and reader, I had to turn the light on to read the lcd. My wife was and is usually sleeping when I go to sleep. I kind of feel like the thing is useless. Actually, here's a more realistic example. I wake up and have to use the bathroom. So I reach over to hit the power button but I accidentally hit the ramp(I don't use it) or C-Flex button. I have C-flex disabled, but if you don't, you could end up changing the setting. Now you have to turn the light on and check your setting. A backlight, which is a very inexpensive add-on to an otherwise expensive product would've made a ton of difference.
While you may not travel a lot, you may like the footprint size of the unit. I'd be interested to see a measurement comparison to both units with the humidifiers attached.
Linda, I totally understand your concerns with emptying the tank. I guess for me, since I always remember to bring distilled water, it turns on the light bulb in my head to empty the tank. But I could totally see someone forgetting about the humidifier tank, which would be a major issue, to say the least of things.

I'm the Dish. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dishness, or uh, Disher, or El Disherino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
The buttons themselves have little blue lights, but the lcd screen is not backlit. I should've clarified. But still, when I'm half way to dream world, and I need to use the bathroom, I'm pretty much feeling my way around things. I reach over and I push a rubber button. If it launched a nuke, we'd all be gone, because I'm not paying attention. I'm just feeling around for the power button.

You can save money on the card reader by getting it from two-factors.com Not sure if its still cheaper in the bundle though.Lyza wrote: I plan on purchasing the bundled packaged from our host that includes the humidifer, software, card reader, etc...

It is cheaper to buy them separately. A bundle costs around $200. Separately costs $100 for software, and $30 for reader from Hong Kong. The reader is exactly the same and only takes 8 days to get to the USA.
(the prices are approx. since I haven't checked them recently).

"TANKS" for the memories....... (to paraphrase Bob Hope)
Even though there is some information available on the M Series, you really need the software to see the whole picture.
Best wishes on your decision.

I just got an M series auto this week. Some very nice features, easy to fill and clean humidifier, and I LOVE C-Flex, which I was indifferent to before trying it. The only drawback I have found is it is very noisy compared to my ResMed Spirit or my PB320E. I never owned a tank, so I can't say if they are as loud.

Where do you find these? I do not see any auto CPAPs listed.

I just took a look and yahoo auctions has had several complete brand new Remstar Autos w/C-Flex (classic series), everything but the software and reader and they were going for $450.
