Some grannies are right some of the time.

Believe me, my son's grandmothers were certainly not right all of the time, not even close.

Do not regret growing older. It is a privilege denied to many...

It takes less time to do a thing right than to explain why you did it wrong.

So sorry you had the rare case of being born into such a family.

On the other hand, as you age and grow in wisdom, you may come to the realization that those grannies were right. :D

Spot on. As a soon to be great-grandfather I hope the same rules apply…

Grannies are always right.

Which is why everyone in Canada, Russia, Alaska and Japan, (not to mention the Scandahoovian countries) all die every winter.

Deplorable!

They should move south instead.

My beloved grandmother (never a 'granny') always told me that if I went outside with a wet head, I'd catch my death of pneumonia. Yet, amazingly, I not only routinely got my head wet, but my entire body wet, outside.... (as one does when one grows up on a lake).

Now, I *DID* catch pneumonia, and was very sick.

In July.

However, I do wish you the best luck trying to convince a certain Lynn that you're correct, at least about THAT.

Drier air in the winter dries the nasal passages--with or without central heat.
Less moisture means less loose mucus, which moves microbes out of our systems.
Save our snot. Hooray for snot!
Time to put on those leftover (or clearance) face masks when indoors with strangers.
It is impolite to share our snot with others.

I put a lot of effort into controlling indoor humidity so that I don't dry out the humans all winter or water the dust mites all summer.

It's precious, let them get their own! (masks too) (I haven't *stopped* wearing masks around strangers... might be part of why I still haven't caught covid) (yes, I know some people here wish I'd hurry up and do that).

I would personally prefer that you not, but I could always get a forum poll going on that, if you'd like . . .

Now I understand why Nicko was thinking you are some internet weirdo.

Why do you gas what I think? You have to derail entire topics posted by newbies so you can "be right" about something you aren't really right about.

Its weird in a creepy stalker way and I wish you would stop.

Weird too that you think I should put people on my foe list and then insist that I read and reply to everyone's posts.

Dude....MOVE ON.

There was a tent pitched under the overpass across the street a couple days ago.
There are a couple campers parked on the street nearby.
People living in some--it's cold enough, maybe I should call the police
and ask them to do a welfare check.
There is either "no room at the inn"--or no "fun" allowed at the shelters.
