jcranmer,

I would love to know if you could restore the data. Both on the same computer or like what I need on a new computer.
I can do this, I will do this.

Hi:

I recently got a new computer and needed to transfer files and date.

I used Detto's IntelliMover - moves email, music photos, files folders, settings, etc.

I bought it cheap on ebay.

Worked terrific and so fast

jcranmer and Lindy thanks for mentioning the other transfer programs, I do not know them. But nice to learn about new programs.

Eventually the Export bulk feature of the Encore Pro worked. (It took a couple of hours.)

(Needed to make the new folder first.)

The problem was/is with my old computer not working properly.

I was so happy yesterday when I got the files transfered.

Today I notice that earlier half of my interactions transfered (almost 2 months worth).

I missing the datat from the 3rd of Dec to now.

If I erase the earlier transactions, and export again, would I be able to combine the interactions. (Can you tell, I am not sure how stuff is stored on the SQL server.

I can do this, I will do this.

Thanks James,

I will erase the earlier interactions that got transfered.

I was afraid, that something will right over the data I have nosw

I have no idea how the import works: As soon as I imported the file of data, the EncorePro recognised the .xml file. It is still on my desktop. Need to figure out where to put it.
I can do this, I will do this.

When you do the import it should ask you if you want to create a new patient the data or add it to an existing one. (In this case you want to add it to your existing patient data)

The file is no longer needed. All the data from it has been copied into the SQL database. You can either delete the file or keep it as a backup.

Cheers, -james

Update:

I got my EncorePro up and running (minus a few entries I accedently deleted, while deleteing the transfered files.)

How I did it.

For me the Export patient would not work on my large file. (I think this is due to my computer.)

I did a batch Export. Twice to get all the data.

How to do a bulk export.

1. Left click on the Start menu.

2. Left Click on all programs

3. Right click on Respironics, Encore utilities then Bulk Export Import

4. Once the window openned, I typed in the x: X being the port that has the memory stick receiving the data. Then clicked on Export.

5. After data was transfered. A window will appear to tell you data transfered.

6. Shut down Encore Pro. (Safety remove hardware will not work unless Encore Pro is closed.)

7. Follow the commands to safely remove the memory stick.

Importing the data is easier.

1. Put the memory stick into the new computer.

2. Open the Encore Pro program.

3. Go to Click on Import Patient.

4. Click on the "e" part of Encore Pro data. The "e" highlights.

5. I went to the removable driver where the file is. The file will be your patientname.xml Click on the file name, then click on "open"

6. This will automatically transfer the file. Close the window when prompted.

7. Shut down Encore Pro.

8. Follow the commands to safely remove the memory stick.

That is it.

I typed the instructions as much for myself as for anyone else who may need them in the future.

I am sure that the files can be transfered through a home network by the shared document section. I was having problems with one of the computers so chose to do it through a memory stick USB Stick (removable drive).

Once again thank you everyone for the much needed help.

My Encore Pro is working and I am very happy.

I can do this, I will do this.

What is this "Enterprise Manager"? Is it within SQL server?

Speaking of SQL Server, anyone have it popup when booting while at other times it does not popup yet it is still running?

Any detailed instructions on how to backup using Enterprise Manager and/or is there a way to provide incremental backups?

Right now, my XML file is around 200 MB and the creating of XML file takes a LONG time even on a P4 2.8 Dual Core PC.

Very good question.
