Oh I wasn't yelling but I was trying to ward off someone else who likely would come along and be swinging a big 2 X 4 to convince you to stay in one thread. I have seen them get really ugly with that 2 X 4. I was just using a small switch to gently slap your hands.
I really don't care so much about a gazillion threads but there are some people here who it matters a LOT to them and they will do some yelling for sure. They come along and actually do yell at newbies then I have to slap their hands for being rude.
There is a very practical reason why we like for newbies to stay in one thread for a while though. Don't have to forever...just while you are sorting through things and having all sorts of questions form in your mind. While I try to read almost all new posts/threads....I don't always have time to respond right when I read something unless I can do it quickly. If I have to go back and sort through a lot of different topics it takes time and what I end up doing is thinking to myself...I will read and respond later...and then I get busy and forget and don't go back....so people don't get an answer from me. Now often someone else will pick up the slack but not always because some members just won't even bother trying to look back and they just end up not responding either.
So you don't have to use this thread forever...just help us help you by keeping all discussion in one quick easy area to get to for right now and maybe next month or so until you get things better sorted out.
All that said....I agree with Miss E and I also strongly urge you to eliminate EPR from the mix just to see if you get lucky and those centrals go away with EPR going away (or sometimes just being reduced). It might happen...I can't promise or guarantee it but it might and it's an easy experiment to make.
Using bilevel pressures can sometimes cause centrals to pop up when people don't normally have a lot of centrals.
When we use any sort of exhale relief we are creating a bilevel pressure situation where we have 2 distinct pressures...one for inhale and one for exhale. It's a small subset of people who have this happen though. It's not like it happens to everyone. I use what would be equal to 4 cm EPR and I don't get any real centrals at all beyond a very rare sleep onset central on occasion. I have a friend that when she used the same equivalent of 4 she would get 15 to 20 centrals every hour all night long but when we dropped it to 3...the centrals all but totally went away.
Someone else I know ended up having to turn EPR totally off to get rid of his too many centrals. It just varies between people.
Again...no guarantees that it will make any difference at all in your centrals but it might and is certainly worth at least giving it a shot. Sometimes it does work and wouldn't it be nice if you were one of those lucky people?
If you aren't one of the lucky ones...no need to panic and worry needlessly. It can be dealt with but you will have to be the squeaky wheel and get your doctors attention.
Good luck and back to your regularly scheduled programming.
