I think you gals got the toilet lid thang all wrong. I know guys that will not touch the toilet seat... ever. So what do they do? They pee all over the toilet seat. Do you gals want that? So... the solution is to leave it up. That way at least it's piss free when you need it.

Most boys figure out how to aim, not pee on the floor, and lift up the toilet seat by about the time they are 3 years old.

So you don't close the toilet cover when you flush? I do that every time, regardless of whether it's a #1 or a #2.

In case you haven't noticed, there's no seal with the lid down.

In which direction does the water go in your toilet? If it's spraying sideways, I'd probably call a plumber.
