SoClean uses Ozone.
Ozone is incompatible with many rubbers and plastics and causes it to breakdown sooner.

I guess it's a good thing I wasn't putting my lungs inside the tank for cleaning.
In all seriousness though, I also thought about that. However, my first hose did this when I didn't have a soclean. I was using a free sample of pudoux cpap hose cleaner.

Many of us never clean our hoses. The only thing going through it is filtered air that is basically the same as you breathe all day, every day.
Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.

Really? But the respiratory therapist was pretty adamant that everything should be washed.
This is all good to know. I've only been at this for a couple years.
