RESMED POWER STATION II

Post by John Rupert » Wed Feb 10, 2021 8:32 am

I'm 71 years old & have had a Resmed CPAP machine for the past five years. I also suffer from COPD. My Resmed Power Station II has died. I must have it because of all the electricity outages here. The cost to replace locally is ZAR 8,700 which is too prohibitive for me (am a pensioner). Can it be repaired and, if not, is there an over the counter similar product that's available? Thanks John

Use of Google is a handy skill to pick up, as is explaining where you live and other data.

8700 South African Rand to US Dollar, convert 8700 ZAR in ...zar.currencyrate.today › ... › US Dollar (USD)
8700 ZAR South African Rand to USD US Dollar. South African Rand 8700 ZAR = 588.38 USD US Dollar. 0.0676. R8700.00 = $588.38

For that kind if money, you could get a Deep Discharge battery system, solar panels to charge it with the controllers. or even cheaper charge it with your electric service. Jim
Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!

https://www.google.com/search?q=zar+cur ... e&ie=UTF-8

zar seems to be short for South African Rand.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

My apologies, I live in Johannesburg, South Africa. ZAR = South African Rands currency. The current exchange rate is approx ZAR 15 to the USD.

I spoke to my son in Sydney, Australia, yesterday. He can buy the RES II power pack over there for AUD 400 = approx ZAR ZAR 4,600 - unbelieveble, almost half the price!

If you can get Amazon something like this may work https://www.amazon.com/KFD-Airsense-Air ... B07P6H994Q scroll down to frequently bought together.

There is a very long but informative thread here about battery back ups viewtopic/t114012/Choosing-a-Battery.html?hilit=battery if you have time and would like to learn a lot about it.

I would read that battery thread and buy a mobility scooter battery, charger and adapter. It will be cheaper and better.
