I have never felt any of the earthquakes here in Oklahoma. When I moved my family to California, in 1986, we spent our last night on the road at Indio, CA. The next night, a 5.6 magnitude earthquake hit that area. We were in our new home in Victorville, CA, sleeping on the floor, on the mattresses from the camper. The earthquake woke my wife up and she woke me up asking "What was that?". I told he "It's just an earthquake. Go back to sleep". I don't think she ever did get back to sleep that night.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Fri Sep 11, 2020 6:02 pmBut Okie B, look at this map of earthquakes over 3.0, just since 2016, copied straight off the OK govt web. You feeling any of them? (I seem to be into printscreen off of govt web sites today.)

Re: Air quality in the western U.S. and PAP filters
The only earthquake I have ever experienced was Good Friday, 1964.
The epicenter was in Alaska, and we felt the temblor in north central Nebraska,
as our home was shaking like the dickens.
My mother thought the furnace was about to blow up,
but I noticed the dishes rattling in the cupboard.
I told my mother, "It's only an earthquake."
I was a weird kid.

I was in southern California for several big earthquakes. The earliest I remember was sylmar in 1971. The collapsed freeway overpass will be forever burned in my brain. Although I actually slept through that one. The later one where part of the the mountain and part of marine land up in palos verde slid into the ocean was pretty dramatic too. They closed or moved it somewhere else.

Re: Air quality in the western U.S. and PAP filters
Yesterday, Saturday, I didn't leave the house. Did my weekly cleaning of my cpap equipment (soap and water, air dry), and I was back to normal, without the high AHI numbers the previous two nights. I guess I better stay in during this Very Unhealthy Air Quality. The reason I was going out for walks was to try to tire myself out, so that I could sleep better. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to wake up to use the bathroom a couple times and it takes a while to fall back asleep (I start thinking, and can't turn my mind off). And I stop drinking any liquids or have food after 6:30 PM.

seems like we are clearing up here in the northwest. today is "unhealthy for sensitive groups". tomorrow is forecast as "moderate".
i can see much further into the distance. i'm considering doing my walk today as it's been put on hold for sometime. plus, i'm not sensitive. (granny? dog? watch it!!)
saw a roadside sign someone put up yesterday which read 'smoke sucks".
i wholeheartedly agree!

So glad things are better, Zonker. They're better here too. Air quality is "good," and we even had a sprinkling of rain this morning. I went for a walk a few days ago, as soon as the AQ got into the yellow on airnow.gov. I'm a very sedentary type, but gee it felt good to be able to walk outdoors.
