Gel nasal cushions

Post by Caren » Wed May 06, 2020 12:55 pm

It’s been years since I’ve been here—I had to reregister—which I guess means CPAP use hasn’t been an issue for me. But now I have questions.

I was using the Respironics Golife headgear with nasal cushions and got on well with it. But it was discontinued and I finally ran out of parts, so I ordered the similar looking Respironics Nuance headgear with gel nasal cushions. Those gel nasal cushions seem to be an issue for me in that I’m perpetually adjusting them to get a good seal and they seem to get dislodged in the middle of the night. Am I doing something wrong? Should I just give it up and try something different? Also, I used to always clean my nasal cushions in boiling water. Can I boil the gel cushions?

Try looking at the ResMed Swift FX or the ResMed AirFit P10 nasal pillow masks. I think you will find that they fit more like the GoLife fit.
The P10 venting is essentially silent which I think you might really like.

I don't know if it is safe to boil the gel pillows or not. I couldn't find specs for temperature but you could always boil one that was headed for the trash can anyway and see what happens.
