Can't prove compliance ISO usb smartstick

Post by dgbmse » Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:15 am

I am in sleep apnea purgatory. Long story short, I can't get a new machine because I admitted to my doctor I went off therapy after 10 years of religious use.
I gave up even trying to get a new machine...this has been going on since April. I just need to prove that I am compliant with my current machine so that I can continue to get supplies through my new insurance. I went back to using my F & P Sleep Style 200 about a month ago.

Problems: My doctor's office cannot read the data from the usb smart stick.
The smart stick is no longer even in the machine. I think they took it out and never replaced it.
Lincare has been no help. They finally sent me a data card but it wasn't for my machine
My machine is so old, I've been all over the internet looking for a replacement stick and it doesn't exist for this model
So, I can't get a new machine, I can't get new supplies for my current machine without paying out of pocket, it doesn't look like a replacement smart stick is even available for
my machine, and to top it off, I have beeen trying to donate plasma to supplement my income since February, but I can't until I can prove to my doctor that I am compliant.

Chances are slim, but email these good people - https://www.secondwindcpap.com/Contact_Us.html

They might have an old machine and would pull the stick out for you.

You and your doctor are to far apart on your care needs.

Change doctors.

You don't *NEED* "supplies" until your current ones stop working. You can use hoses for years, you can use masks for years, the DME tells you to throw away perfectly good stuff in order to increase their profits.

You don't need a smartstick to prove compliance, your machine itself has that data stored in it.

Well, you're right. My data is all on my machine. But I need a way to get it off to prove I am using it.

I don't have a manual for your machine, but every machine I've ever seen has a way to show "compliance" from the front screen with the appropriate button pushing and knob twirling.

Gramps said he used to have a SleepStyle 200 years ago. From what he barely remembers, holding the ramp button and right arrow down simultaneously will get you into the menu where you can scroll to the compliance information. Let us know if that works or not.

This might help - https://cdnmedia.endeavorsuite.com/imag ... Manual.pdf

Look for Average Compliance Hours Per Night.

My first husband was young. He ran around on me. Second time around, I made sure to marry an old one who was too worn out to run around.

Even if you find a smartstick I doubt you will find a DME or doctor with a reader.
