Need help with oscar/encore data

Post by Maiden72 » Sat Jun 22, 2019 8:30 am

I am new to this forum. I have an older machine. Sometimes I am able to export data into Oscar and sometimes I can't. Last night I was able to. Oscar does mess with the time stamps. But I was in therapy for roughly 6 hours. Oscar also lowered the Hypopnea Index. But it is close to encore. I had difficulty with screen shots in Oscar. They came up blank. I also had difficulty resizing height of rows of statistics. I have attached both Oscar and encore basic data. I know I have quite of bit of leaks. Using Amara View mask and it leaks on me. Thinking of getting Airfit F20. I am a huge mouth breather. I have deviated septum. ENT says I need surgery. Septoplasty and other sinus surgery. So, I find it difficult to breathe out of my nose. But, my body is trained to breath out of my mouth and whenever I take the steps to clear my sinuses before bed, I believe the second I fall asleep, I open my mouth. Due to sinus issues, I cant use a chin strap as my nose becomes clogged at least in one nostril through the night. Are these flow limitations and snoring of concern? My AHI looks good to me. Sleep study a year ago had 100 events an hour. I did not sleep, only dozed and then would wake when I started snoring. But was diagnosed with Severe OA. I just got this older Auto SV machine last week and my numbers are much improved from Prior Old Resmed Vpap Auto I was given. Sleep study a year ago was 100 events an hour. Vpap Auto had my AHI at 30 pretty much everyday for past 6 months. This Auto SV machine is working wonders with me. I am able to keep it on without taking mask off every night I have had it. If I adjust the Epap down, I get much more Central and Hypo's. This is the only machine I have been able to tolerate. I do get 1 or 2 low pressure alarms a night. I just turn off alarm and go back to sleep and it usually does not go off again. I will not deal with insurance, as I went through the ringer and spent a lot of money a year ago. I do have a neurologist that I can start making appointments with again now that I have a machine I can export data with. Gifted Resmed machine had no ability to export any data.

Is there a question somewhere in that wall of text?

sorry pale rider. I got to typing and rambled on. Yes, should I be concerned about the snoring and flow limitations? Also, is this leakage too much? Considering new mask. I have Amara View, but it looks like it is leaking quite a bit. But, my AHI is good, so is this mask and machine doing what it is supposed to do?

No worries, it's just too early in the morning for me to try and find something in the rambling ;) thanks for breaking it out.

Yes, I would be concerned about both of those, they should be lower, you really shouldn't snore much, if at all, with a properly functioning CPAP. And, yes, you've got a fair amount of LL (Large Leak), that's the machine complaining that your leak is too high for it. Anytime your machine shows "LL" that's too much leak.

Your AHI is good in the oscar chart, not very good on the Encore one.

I'd suggest raising the minEPAP pressure, and work on the mask fit, (or change masks as you're considering.)

Amara leaks a lot for many people... I'd look at others (so many out there) on Cpap.com.

I received a new mask this week. Airtouch F20. Still getting quite a bit of leakage. Although, I am not in the large leak territory very long. I think much of this leak is intentional. But I do not think I am getting the therapy I need. Seems to be venting much of this higher pressure. I have to use a full face mask as I have sinus issues. 6.1 AHI is not good. The H & FL #'s are pretty high. Any mask suggestions on mask and settings? I am not feeling the mask leaking. I am pretty new to this. I felt well today though. Oscar is hit or miss getting data for this Bipap Auto SV machine. So, I have attached some encore data. The first night with this mask, the low pressure support alarm kept going off. At least last night it didn't go off to my knowledge. This is still the only machine I have been able to not rip my mask off at night. I think this might be one of the 1st 8 hours of sleep I have had since starting therapy. So, it appears something is helping
