Never mind - For Sale - Respironics Dreamstation Pro

Post by scott47 » Sun Jun 16, 2019 7:56 pm

After thinking about this, I will keep the Pro as my backup machine.

Thanks for the suggestions!

I have a Respironics Dreamstation Pro unit for sale. It has been used for 62.8 hours and comes with a new case, power supply, hose, SD Card and filter. The firmware has been updated to the latest version from Respironics. The asking price is $375, which includes USPS shipping with their delivery insurance and will require an adult signature. If you purchase this item and want me to send it without requiring a signature, I'm happy to do that at your emailed request. I will accept payment through PayPal.

It comes with a heated humidifier which can use the heated hose. The hose I received (and am selling here) is not the heated hose but if you have a heated hose, or purchase one separately, it will work perfectly. This is exactly what I did.

Here's why I'm selling it. I was replacing a REMstar Auto CPAP that I purchased about 7 years ago. I wanted to replace this unit with the new Dreamstation Auto, but I ordered the Pro by accident. Once I realized what I had done, I ordered the Auto and I used the Pro while I was waiting for it to arrive (62.8 hours total).

Both are excellent units, and to be honest, I don't really know what the differences are between the Pro and the Auto. I just wanted to replace my unit with the same type that I was used to using.

When the Auto unit arrived I simply swapped out the CPAP and Humidifier from the Pro I was using with the Auto that I received. That means that everything else in the box is brand new and the CPAP will be sent in an original shipping box from Respironics.

Thank you for reading and if you have any questions or want any other details, please let me know.

Keep it for a backup/spare machine. You never know when you may need it. They usually quit at the worst possible times.

Difference between pro and auto is pro stays at one constant setting doesnt go up and down like auto or can be set to constant. I own both use pro at home and auto set to cpap which basically makes it a pro at work. (I work far and stay there alot). Purchased pro new and auto used with 38 hrs locally dirt cheap. I'd keep as a backup if i were you like others will tell you on here.

Where did you buy it? CPAP.com has a 30 day trial period.

Also the Pro has "SmartRamp" isnt that basically APAP?

No...SmartRamp has a time limit. Doesn't last all night. It ends when either the machine thinks you are asleep or 30 minutes has passed...whichever comes first. After SmartRamp is done with...fixed pressure all not long with no ability to adjust up or down as needed.

Both have smartramp and is exactly what pugsy said you can keep pressing button if you like and resets timer. I personally turned it off after first week using cpap. I use 10 and anything under 10 i know feel like i cant breath.

Good plan, I always advise having a backup of *everything*, cushion, frame, headgear, hose, water tank, filters... and yes, even a backup machine.
