ResMed myAir data

Post by prandelicious » Sat Jun 08, 2019 7:16 pm

I'm just wondering -- I just noticed that I have data on ResMed's myAir service even when I'm outside of the US. I had the impression this would only work on Verizon's network but it's working here in the Philippines. Does this mean that my provider allows medical equipment like the AutoSense 10 to use their network for free? I'm just surprised, that's all. I know myAir doesn't really provide useful data other than motivating you to use the device more when compared to OSCAR or SleepyHead but it's good to know it's working.

It is the internet--otherwise called the WORLD WIDE WEB.
There are far better things to be found--and far worse, as well.

Hey @chunkyfrog. Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I'm sure some of the traffic passes through the internet but I don't remember entering any IP addresses or connecting the ResMed CPAP to my home network so the only way for it to send data is via the cellular network.

It's always been only the cellular network for data transfer. Home networks aren't involved. We don't tie ResMed machines to home networks. Now which carrier ResMed has a contract with for the data transfer I have no idea who that might be.
So it depends on where you are at. There are areas in the US where that particular cellular service is very weak or non existent and MyAir is not available to those people.

IT's prolly similar to Amazon's Whispernet Net if you are familiar with that... I used to be able to browse internet using my Kindle in Germany while on post (military)... yeah i was pretty desperate to want to use the Kindle internet browser but it worked and there was no cost.

When I was in Brazil the data did transfer from my AirCurve, and when I was in Southeast Asia, none of the data transferred -

Today, the device wasn't able to upload to ResMed's myAir service. I'm only getting 1 bar where the device is located. Maybe it'll upload tomorrow after tonight's session. Thank you all for your feedback!
