Re: More newbe questions
I would look closely at the two clusters. They are most like SWJ. I have found that when my wife has a cluster like that, it usually SWJ, especially at the of her sleep. If you are restless and are moving around, you are more likely to have larger leaks, which you do during the clusters.

Before worry (and trying to do anything about those clusters) I would first try to figure out if the flagged events were real or not.
See the videos here for help with determining real or not status. SWJ (arousal breathing, post arousal, awake/semi awake breathing) stuff not real and we can't fix it more pressure.

Ok, my bad, I misread the pressure chart (I'm going to claim it's because it was so scrunched upCynmatthes wrote: ↑Wed Nov 21, 2018 8:31 amOh sorry I wasn't clear. I have the manuel. My min epap already says 8. Is a minepap something different.

Watching the video's on how to understand the data...
just left me confused
I wish it was written instructions I do better than with videos.

Re: More newbe questions
Today's numbers and a question. Even though the small frame feels like it fits better I seem to be having higher leak's according to the statistics I pulled. However, I don't sleep near as well... Should I go back to the medium frame or are the higher leaks because I am asleep?

Re: More newbe questions
If you sleep through the leaks then I don't know that I would worry about them. They are relatively brief.
I will try to compose something to help you figure out awake vs asleep with some examples or I can find what I have already have done but I don't have time right now...starting the preparation for the big turkey feast right now.
Remind me later...and I don't mind if you remind me because I already know I forget to do stuff way to easily.
I did a quick tutorial here not long ago but I have lots of posts to sort through to find it. Short on time at the moment.

Thank you!
And Happy Thanksgiving!
We are not cooking this year as none of our kids were able to make it. The first time ever that none of them has shown up.
Have an amazing day!

Re: More newbe questions
Today's graphs and questions. Thank you so much everyone for ALL the help!
What is a clear airway event. Is that a central? How do I fix those?
The first screen shot, that looks like crappy sleep to me and not a true event. Am I reading it correctly?

Re: More newbe questions
Clear Airway event....Respironics term....no air flow but the airway is open. No air flow because no effort to breathe. It's a central apnea by definition.
SleepyHead uses the CA name because originally it was designed for a Respironics machine and that's the name Respironics uses.
It's still used no matter what machine...and if you used ResMed's ResScan software you would see the term central apnea being used instead.
Hold your breath for 10 seconds...that's essentially a 10 second central apnea...no big deal and no distress and most of us could do that standing on our heads and not have it be a problem.
Centrals only become a problem when present in large numbers, causing sleep disturbances or drops in oxygen levels. It takes a lot of not breathing to cause the oxygen to drop.
All the above assuming the centrals are real and not sleep/wake/junk centrals. Anything that is SWJ can be ignored because it isn't real.
Now if someone is seeing a large amount of SWJ stuff from just crappy sleep then to reduce them we need to try to figure out the cause of the crappy sleep first and fix the cause...eliminate the cause and the crappy sleep should reduce and with that reduction the SWJ flagged events should reduce.
Now figuring out the cause and fixing it....a lot easier said than done.
And yes...the flagged OA above that you zoomed in on looks like arousal/post arousal SWJ to me and if it were my report I would shrug my shoulders and move on. Not a darn thing you can do about it and it doesn't really need to have anything done about it.
Looks like a very brief arousal and you quickly went back to sleep.
Having a few "real" centrals isn't cause for alarm. It's normal to have a sleep onset central...so if you wake up several times during the night you might have a handful of those as you transition back to sleep just as a normal occurrence.
You can't do anything about those and there is no need unless you are having a truckload of them.
Gotta run. More later maybe.

Re: More newbe questions
"clear airway" is a made up term by Respironics, the rest of the sleep industry calls those 'centrals', you don't fix them. As long as you don't have a *lot* of them, you just ignore them.Cynmatthes wrote: ↑Fri Nov 23, 2018 11:34 amWhat is a clear airway event. Is that a central? How do I fix those?
