Been using CPAP for about 6 months, joined this group last weeek. Installed the Sleepyhead software today. Attached is a screenshot.
How am I doing? I *think* I'm doing fine: I wake up with the mask on almost every morning, I feel ok, I know I'm in compliance with usage. I won't see my doctor until December. After my initial check-up, he said I don't need to go back for a year.
Does everything look good? I don't know what I'm looking at except there are many "event flags" and I don't know if this is ok?

I'd say mediocre.... I'd bump the minimum to 8, and see what it looks like after a couple days.Chris8243 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 15, 2018 8:15 pmBeen using CPAP for about 6 months, joined this group last weeek. Installed the Sleepyhead software today. Attached is a screenshot.

Re: Sleepyhead Software installed today
I think I would increase that minimum just a bit and see if those events could be reduced a bit.
Assuming you are sleeping fairly soundly and not waking up during the night a large numbers of times (which might make us wonder if all those events aren't real) then all those events except for the CAs point to the airway still trying to close off a bit...not being held open quite optimally. Probably still a lot better than without cpap but there's remove to improve the results and more minimum pressure is what is usually need. Not sure how much but 1 to 2 cm...you can go up slowly and watch things and also monitor comfort.
There are parts of the night where these settings are fine but there are a few times where it's just not quite doing an optimal job.
When we see this sort of stuff we usually think either the person is on their back or it's REM sleep stage (both of which can cause OS to be worse and/or need more pressure)...or maybe a little of both combined.
I don't think it will take all that much more minimum to significantly reduce the number of events you are seeing.
You are about where I was at week number two in my therapy...I was a little slower because back then we had to buy the software and it came on a disc...so I had to wait for the disk and a card reader. It took me 2 cm more minimum the 90% of the clutter cleaned up quite nicely.
I am also thinking 8 cm would be a good choice but if it's not comfortable you can try 7 for a few nights and watch the report and then go to 8. Sometimes the adjustment is easier when done in small stages. We don't want to have you so uncomfortable with the pressure changes so that your sleep quality suffers.

Re: Sleepyhead Software installed today
Thank you for your input. I believe I have to call my DME to ask them to adjust it - at least I have not adjusted anything. They changed it from 4 to 6 after my first doctor appointment after using it for 2 months or so.

Re: Sleepyhead Software installed today
If you want to come over to the dark side and do it yourself you can...but if you prefer to have them do it that's fine also.
It's a very minor change and it's super easy to do.
Just go over here and request the provider/clinical manual for your machine.
Get it even if you want to have them do the changes because there's some really useful information it about your machine and what it does that isn't in the typical user manual.
So there's a lot more stuff in there besides how to do the secret handshake to get to the clinical setup menu where you can changed the pressures.
I don't ever want anyone changing anything if they aren't comfortable doing it.
But it is unbelieveably easy to do.

Re: Sleepyhead Software installed today
That WAS easy to change! I put the minimum at 7
What will be the main result to look for? Less "events" or a lower AHI?

Yes.
I doubt 7 will do it, or even 8, but it's a starting point.

Re: Sleepyhead Software installed today
I think 8 also but it hurts nothing to do 7 tonight an 8 tomorrow night...just depends on how comfortable you are with the more pressure. Some people it's no big deal and some people swear we put them in the middle of a hurricane fan.
