Ear popping/discomfort

Wondering if any nasal pillow users have ever experienced ear discomfort or the sensation of your ears need popping?

These last couple months I've notice my ears starting to hurt a little but. Only at night when I lay down and as the night progresses while sleeping. I have an appointment with an ENT (having sinus issues too).

Also, if you have experienced this, did you ever have any jaw pain? I'm wearing a ruby red chin strap and while it keeps my mouth closed, my jaw is sore as hell most days. I went to see an interoral massage specialist and it hasn't done a bit of good.

Had a similar problem until I started treating the inflamed sinuses. That can also cause the jaw pain due to inflamed lymph nodes right behind and under your ear. Don't know what to tell you. Most of my c-pap need is during REM from 3-5 a.m., so I stopped using my cpap until after my nightly run to the bathroom at about 2 a.m. Not ideal, but the jaw pain kept getting worse. I had this problem BEFORE cpap, so I knew it wasn't the cause, simply worsened what was already there. Anyway, I was briefly on prednisone (which wrecked my blood sugar which is a totally different story) and have remained on Flonase. He's going to check again in November to see if the problem is cleared up.

Also, I have since switched from P10 to Dreamwear. Not that I think it changed anything as far as the sinuses, but my nose is less sore.

Maybe you missed this. It's tough to get into an initial appointment with an ENT, but do call them repeatedly for cancellations. You may have to simply get into a regular doctor and they can get you squeezed in with the ENT faster.

Once you get your ear pain sorted out and are stabilized, try these Mack's Silicone earplugs to prevent ear popping and pressure. They work for my similar surfer's ear problems etc :

I can use one pair for several nights till they lose their stickiness. Keep your ears clean when inserting.
