Are there any really bad things I definitely do NOT want to learn the hard way?

Like breathing too deep. Or trying to drink with a straw?

I am suppose to drink all night.
...but haven't since I started this.

...and I don't want my next renal scan to be bad.
That would NOT be good. I'm living on a bit of a razors edge. One bad test an I am on an airplane.

Also, I would love to find a thread here that had all the bragging great things in it?

How people became superheros from wearing this ... (???)
...stuff like that.

They make more money.
Can communicate with all animals.
Became more beautiful / handsome.

I need some goals.
:p

Oh. Cool to know!
Thank you.

I love Dr. Bronner's.
It's all I've used for decades.

I am glad to know it wasn't a disaster on a mask..
Not that I am against baby shampoo ... but I hate clutter and this machine *to me* seems like a lot of clutter.
...and then all the different distilled water and such. Since I always have Dr. Bronner's with me that makes things easier.

I have the humidifier off and don't notice a problem.
I guess I'll have to try it on too to see if there is a difference.

it moved up while I was posting.
The number means nothing if you are awake.....even when you are sleeping it will continually change if your machine is set to auto.
Sleepyhead will tell what your correct numbers are.
I am sure you are right, LSAT.

I am definitely going to tackle those sleepyhead numbers soon.
I saw that when I was wearing this posting last night it looked small and rhythmic and then when I went to sleep it was nothing but blue lines and obstructions. Which makes me sad even without knowing why. :p

Do people wear these when doing yoga, I wonder?

YAY! I always feel like I am complaining. Thank you for saying that, dhoppe!
I had PERFECT HEALTH for 47 years and had never really experienced sickness with others.
(I never had children)

So... while I *used* to be positive ... I recently hate myself and all the suffering and complaining.
All the "failed tests". (I had NEVER failed anything before. Stupid scans and blood tests. )

anyway ... I couldn't wait for tonight and I am typing with this thing between my eyes.
...and BEST OF ALL? Huffing spearmint oil on a cotton ball near what I think is the "intake"!

AWESOME.

I think I want to learn everything about aromatherapy!

My cousin downloaded sleepyhead and taught me about the little switch that has to be LOCKED in the computer
and unlocked in the cpap machine.

So I can see a bunch of things that I don't understand. I ADORE the icon of the sheep with a mask!
(I'm Aries and so like sheep)

~~~I am guessing all those lines and words will "dawn on me" and then I can go back in time and catch up with things that mean
nothing to me right now. (Plus I know I am not reading this right)
I guess I don't really know what any of those things mean. AHI, obstruction, etc.
I really don't want to learn.
I want John to learn it for me. :p
(I am dependent on John like a seeing eye dog for my brain)
I will see him again tomorrow night and we can talk "Sleepyhead".
He is going to be SHOCKED at how much I know since yesterday... and that I changed my settings. LOL
(I am such a rule breaker!)
I looooooove this spearmint. WOW.
6.9 seems to be my number.
OH no ... I should lie about that, huh?
people will think I am desperate flirting or something.
I will say 6.8.
Grace.
Glad I could offer even just a little bit of help Grace. I would also encourage you to spend as much time on these forums as possible and learn as much as you can. I have been wearing the mask for one month as of today and am still learning new stuff every day. There are many links to topics noted in the top portion of the page that will give you all the info you need.
I don't know about this, palerider~~~
I mean I *COULD* do it (like for money) but it is really difficult for a newbie.
Or rather it is difficult for *ME* as a newbie.
I think I am going to have to turn off the machine when I drink water.
I tried with a thin straw and a thick straw but it was a very weird feeling.
I think air went in my belly?
YUCK
...but I didn't burp or anything so maybe not.
I hate that I am always turning my machine off and on ...
well ... I hate that some "mysterious others" know I am turning it off and on.
... though I still can't believe anyone is paying attention.
Thanks for the tip, Cancun~~~
I probably should have read posts before just blustering in like a bull in a china shop making a thread.
(that may be a mixed metaphor? Do bulls bluster or buy china?)
...but I did get REAL HELP ... and REAL FAST ... so it turned out good for me.
I was not wearing mask at all after the first two days until I came here.
Total non-compliant Failure.
Now I am just a rebel who changes my own setting and a cheater who wears it while awake and playing with aromatherapy
to help offset the fact that I really can't wear it all night. (at least not yet)
...I still consider this an improvement~~~
Maybe I can get the rest of the information I need just from reading without needing to ask more questions.
(However there is a bit of a learning curve with this whole thing)
...and I have never even known anyone who wore a mask and had never seen a machine before this one they gave me.
Though that is probably the case with most folks.
Grace
turn it on or off when you want.
True
I always TRY to start off being good and following directions ~~~
~~~ and then
somehow

I find myself on a "non-compliant list" - (happens all the time)

...possibly defending my decision to drink water. LOL
actually it sounds like a fun fight it would be so ludicrous

I don't know who is even monitoring me?
Some weird group hired by Blue Cross who has a deal with the cpap machine people is all I can figure out

...even my doctor doesn't have a clue

And I have good long term expensive PPO
or at least I USED to think it was good

This sleep stuff has been different than anything else I've experienced.
They act like timeshare or maybe water softener salesman. I can't wrap my head around it.

...but something is definitely different.

Oh! The compliance? They don't actually care how many times you turn the machine on or off. They look at the total amount of time the machine is used in a 24 hour cycle. That's it.

So if you sleep an hour awake an hour whatever they don't care. Your sleep doc will care but insurance won't.

Hopefully that lets you sleep a little easier?
