It seems to be a little more than that:

The only thing I know to do is to uninstall, reinstall, set the password with the elapse time of 0
and then create an additional new user account with a new and different password. and an elapse time of 0.
EDIT: It is very important to set both the administrative and clinical attributes for any accounts you create, otherwise this won't work for solving your problem.

So I do not know were or what:

elapse time of 0

set both the administrative and clinical attributes for any accounts you create

So I AM asking for more info on these details...

none of that is necessary if you can simply remember your password. I didn't do any of the stuff that jds74 recommends.

and I'm guessing that jds74 was looking for the word "expire" time instead of "elapse" presumably so that the passwords won't expire and have to be changed.

And again I did not forget my password, it would not let me use it, and I wrote it down when I reinstalled it and it locked me out the second time.

So I am waiting unit I understand how to set things up BEFORE trying again.

here's the *facts* you put in different passwords, or it would not have locked you out.

the password you put in, when you changed it the first time, when forced to after the first login was NOT the same password you used subsequently when you got locked out, or you would not have gotten locked out.

that's a lovely attitude. I HOPE that if I'm looking for information, that someone will tell me facts, and that I'll have the sense to listen.

I've *told you* what I've learned from my brief experience about Encore Pro, you simply refuse to believe.

Good as talking with you had done me harm, I no longer enjoy visiting here..because of you.

I asked for help and you dumped on me. A number of times.

OK I am not a sharp as I once was, and perhaps because of my illness.

Encore may not be as great as Sleepyhead but it can do some stuff.

I did get it working. Twice, it has a trap once I may had screwed up once but twice it was its fault.

There seems to a trick in setting it up and I missed it.

A trap for someone not setting it up right.

I have been on computer from 1995 and Never compiled anything.

So do not feel I want to risk doing something with little instruction and putting my system at risk.

Thanks for nothing.

Thanks for spoiling my liking for this site and for spoiling my night.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but there's nothing I've told you that wasn't accurate and correct, no matter what you believe. I'm sorry you don't like my delivery.

theres no 'trick' to installing encore, there's no trick to making sure that the password is correct. it's designed for medical people, not computer experts. there's nothing 'tricky'. click 'install' and then run the program, that is it. I'm terribly sorry if you don't wish to believe that. perhaps the many many people here that've installed it can affirm that is all that is involved in installing and running it... no tricks, no traps, just get the password right, I chose something very simple, since nobody else has access.

believe what you like, I hope someone can explain things to you in a way that you like.

and, now, since I've tried one more time to tell you the facts, I'll quit, like I said the first time.

I don't know if you read what I replied earlier but here's Pugsy saying basically the same thing in her own fashion:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=100731&p=939331&hil ... ck#p939331

Here's another.
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=61133&p=581023&hili ... ck#p581023
Scroll down a ways for the meat of the issue.

I found these two by going up above to 'members' > type Pugsy > go in the small search box and type "Encore Pro lock" ... there were a few more but I can't spend anymore time on this. Sorry

Hope you feel better and get Encore Pro running soon.

In most cases your right your facts seemed correct and again your right: it was your delivery.

Your being right most of the time is why I put up with your attitude, but when I KNEW you were wrong it just pissed me off and was upsetting.

You Sir have a harsh and hard way of dealing with people.

And you seem to slam and put down people whom question your opinions.

You made such commits to me many times.

It wore me down and became irritable and upsetting.

I being some 67 years do not like being treated like way ward school boy.

And again a few people have shown that your wrong about using Encore Prop 2 and that you do need to do more than just put in a name and password.

Oh well onward and upward.

no, you do not.

all of what jds74 wrote is about setting up a safety net in case you get your password wrong and get locked out.

I'm sorry you can't, or won't, believe that. but, as Sir Noddin Off said, "I can't spend anymore time on this. Sorry"

Below is something that Pugsy wrote about ResScan but at the end she mentions Encore Pro and registry issues after an uninstall. I've used free CCleaner and have been able to clean up registry issues with no problems. Maybe your program MaxUninstall missed something.

"CCleaner is a good program to use if you haven't ever used it but from what you describe I am doubting it will help much unless there are some old fragments of the other ResScan still laying around causing mischief and sometimes running CCleaner can get rid of those. Especially since you had trouble with a simple uninstall of the old program. They shouldn't be that difficult to remove and when they are it might be registry issues. CCleaner will do the registry also and I never had it harm anything but it will let you make a copy of what it removes, just as a precaution. I have used it for years and years and never had to use the backup. Sometime old fragments can hinder a new install. I had that happen with Encore Pro. "

I will run my un-install program and try again.

AND I will also follow the suggestions to reset the time limit for the password which as my copy demands a new password BEFORE I am allowed in, it will not run the stock password I am thinking might be what happened, as both times once I gave it a new password I was let in and I could use the program until I closed it and tried to open it the next day.

Then it would not let me back in.

SO MY UN-INSTALLER WORK COMPLETELY AS IT RAN THE SECOND TIME.

IT WAS ONLY AFTER CLOSING IT AND TRYING TO GET BACK IN I RAN INTO TROUBLE.

So once more into the breach...

Rich

I suggest a simple password, such as abcd1234, make sure capslock is off.

Well I got it working again.

I am fairly sure it keeps stuff on the hard drive as A) It did not do as complex a install after the first time which had to have a reboot during its install and both reinstalls have not needed reboots and B) I had to rename the folder for it to install even with both my Max un-install AND running CCleaner to clean the register.

So I am not closing it. I am keeping it up and running.

It keeps timing out but it also keeps taking the same password to let me back in.

So how close is Sleepyhead to be ready to read DreamStations??

As I only put my system to sleep I can keep this up for a couple of weeks before I have to do a reboot to clear things out.

And again thanks for all your help guys.

Rich
