back up battery
Hi, i am new to this forum and to CPAP machine i have been usung a ResMed Airsense10 (autoset) since July 2015, glad to find this group I have a lot of questions which i will be reading some of the old posts to see if the answers are there already, the one question i have for now is where can you buy a back up battery at discout prices ? i have not found anything below $300 to $400 !
i am going on a trip overseas for two weeks where the main power in the house is not consistant so i think I would need a back up battery. Thanks in advance.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.
Re: back up battery
There are many possibilities under $300, especially if you are an engineer. If you want specific advice you have to give us some idea on your travel needs. Since your CPAP uses 24V the first step is to purchase a 12/24 volt converter from ResMed (or perhaps a second CPAP that runs on 12V). Then there are a wide variety of 12V deep cycle batteries.Engineer1958 wrote:Hi, i am new to this forum and to CPAP machine i have been usung a ResMed Airsense10 (autoset) since July 2015, glad to find this group I have a lot of questions which i will be reading some of the old posts to see if the answers are there already, the one question i have for now is where can you buy a back up battery at discout prices ? i have not found anything below $300 to $400 !

How inconsistent are we talking? If it is less than 1 hour power outtages, a UPS will do, and will be your cheapest option.

Re: back up battery
I recently bought a C-100 from our CPAP.COM host. It seems to work fine (although I haven't tested it for longer than a few minutes). The quality looks good, and the price was within my range. I can recommend it only based on apparent quality of workmanship and (unexpectedly) good manual and simple charging system. Others here might have full-night experience w this bat, and their recommendations would be interesting.
Good luck in your search.

the outage could go all night so i would need something that would last at least 7 hours, thanksWindCpap wrote:How inconsistent are we talking? If it is less than 1 hour power outtages, a UPS will do, and will be your cheapest option.
Re: back up battery
OK. If you use humidity, your needs could be as high as 30 Amp-Hours. Cutting back a bit you might reduce that to 20 or less, easily handled by a 35 Amp-hour "scooter" battery. If you're in a humid climate, you might not use the humidifier at all. And with no power, there won't be air conditioning to dry things out. The setup listed in the link below will work, but you'll probably want the medium (or larger) charger if you're running full time with humidity in "UPS" mode. Of course, you'll need the appropriate voltage setup for the charger. Any battery rated for "Deep Cycle" will work, but the new AGM style batteries (used in all scooters and jetskis, etc) are preferable since they don't leak. Price in the US would start at about $60 for the battery and around $50 for the charger and cables.Engineer1958 wrote:the outage could go all night so i would need something that would last at least 7 hours, thanksWindCpap wrote:How inconsistent are we talking?
