Yes, it is. People in general have become pretty awful, but when they can hide behind the internet, it turns SOME people into real assholes that get their jollies by tormenting others. Would they do it IRL? Maybe, maybe not.Michelle-OH wrote:Live and learn I guess, what a sad state of affairs it is when people, IRl or on the internet, can't just interact decently and treat people the way they would want to be treated. It's a different world these days.
I try to live my life by treating people, both IRL and online, the way I want to be treated. If say it to you on the internet, I'd say it to you if you were in my living room with me. If I wouldn't say it to your face, I won't say it online.
Sadly, many people do not feel this way. The best way to disarm a bully online is to ignore them. Stop engaging them. When you bore them, they'll leave you alone.
And for the record, I do not agree that all of the comments are bullying in nature. I think some people are way over sensitive and haven't adapted to life on the internet. Dealing with people on the internet is NOT the same as IRL, sad to say. You have to adapt a little bit and ignore a lot.
All this pissing and nit picking back and forth is really stupid and childish. And some of the things I've read just make me cringe and roll my eyes.
But that's just my opinion, obviously.
