Yes, it is. People in general have become pretty awful, but when they can hide behind the internet, it turns SOME people into real assholes that get their jollies by tormenting others. Would they do it IRL? Maybe, maybe not.

I try to live my life by treating people, both IRL and online, the way I want to be treated. If say it to you on the internet, I'd say it to you if you were in my living room with me. If I wouldn't say it to your face, I won't say it online.

Sadly, many people do not feel this way. The best way to disarm a bully online is to ignore them. Stop engaging them. When you bore them, they'll leave you alone.

And for the record, I do not agree that all of the comments are bullying in nature. I think some people are way over sensitive and haven't adapted to life on the internet. Dealing with people on the internet is NOT the same as IRL, sad to say. You have to adapt a little bit and ignore a lot.

All this pissing and nit picking back and forth is really stupid and childish. And some of the things I've read just make me cringe and roll my eyes.

But that's just my opinion, obviously.

I expect that some will hear "I gave you a good life, why the HXLL did you piss all over everything?" Maybe their life was never that good and they had a pretty tough time of it, and they just can't stand it when they see someone actually enjoying life and being nice to others. So they piss on everything, mostly things they know nothing about. Because it does not matter to them what it's about, they just want to piss on it.

These are the same people that have everything figured out and they have a solution for everything-piss on it.

I stopped getting annoyed about them years ago-now I just shake my head and feel sorry for them. It must really suck to be them. I want to be there when they find out they have been totally wrong, just so I can see the confused look on their faces.
Does it give you a feeling of satisfaction to judge, criticize and "look down" on others? Just asking.
I thought of all kinds of responses, but. Read it as you will, I have just posted my observation on how some people see the world, I see it differently-by choice. It does amuse me though because you responded in a way that I had thought about after I posted. I called out no one. I spoke of an attitude. Why is it that people that behave like this can say anything they want and if those of that don't act like this say almost anything at all we get things like you posted " judge, criticize and "look down". Is this really what I am doing? Is this how you see my post?

Fightco
Nope not really. "demure passive-aggressive way" interesting. Nothing I have ever said or posted has ever been called demure before. As for passive-aggressive, you really need to look up what that means, just because I did not swear does not make my comments passive-aggressive.

Interesting, I have only read the last few pages and I don't remember seeing posts by Fightco and Air Jordan mixed in there, I will have to go back and check.

Interesting, I only know what two people did for a living on this forum (as they have posted it) and I know that I have never posted what I did/do. I have indeed been trained to evaluate behavior, it was the DSM-III when I was learning it. You are of course welcome to disagree with my findings.

not a troll. I've been a member since around 2008. Chose to return because I had some questions, new sleep study, new machine, etc., then decided to stay awhile. Went from Guest to Lucy.
I usually stay out of these cat fights, but my inquiring mind wants to know. Why couldn't you get your questions answered on the wonderfully moderated forum????

Can't speak for someone else, but I'm on a "nicer" forum, but the no. of posts a day is something like 5 instead of whatever wild no. there are here. Haven't actually had trouble personally though.

If this IS moderated haven't seen any signs of it.

This is a good place, a democracy.
Kind of like your ambitious family reunion, when NOBODY is left out.
All family, everyone belongs, but then there's that one relative who (fill in the blank).
He's still family, probably needs help, but unless you want a black eye--STAND CLEAR!
Eventually the DB goes home, sobers up, or even dies; yeah, that happened . . .
Everybody came to the funeral, cried some, and hugged.
But you could sense the RELIEF.
You just can't dance with a porcupine.

I will be more clear next time; I was responding to Air Jordan's comment to you and no, I do not find you demure

I've received very helpful responses from people on the ApneaBoard since 2011 or 12, and still do. At one time I also received helpful info/support from several people here. It seems that only two of those people are still around, and I hope one of those two hasn't been run out of here. Haven't seen him around since earlier in the week.

All these spezul snowflakes expecting special treatment from unpaid people giving their time when they don't get it from the medical staff they pay (in which ever form cash, insurance, taxes). And then they bitch and whine and work hard to destroy what they were given because the grammar, phrasing or what ever was not to their liking.

This USELESS thread was started by one TROLL and brought back to life by another TROLL.

In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into ...

go back to the beginning of this thread, and look for a post by johnnygoodman.. the owner of the place... and his view on moderation, free speech, censorship, etc.

some idiots just don't get the point... or, more like, just like to cause trouble, by stirring up shit.

which, in a perfect example, is what that idiot "heart jumping" did when s/he trolled through old stuff and reanimated this six month dead thread...
