I have no knowledge of any moderators over there being members here. at the time, there were only three moderators, paula02 (who's icon was a huge hammer, ironically enough), sleepster, and deepbreathing (I think). don't recall any of those names posting over here.

Nope... not a troll. I've been a member since around 2008. Chose to return because I had some questions, new sleep study, new machine, etc., then decided to stay awhile. Went from Guest to Lucy.

If I could change anything on this board it would be to have the ability to "up vote" "like" whatever you want to call it. Sometimes I see some great posts (like yours) and really want to acknowledge without typing a message.

You know I hope that when we die we get to review what we did in life and how we did it. I expect that some will hear "I gave you a good life, why the HXLL did you piss all over everything?" Maybe their life was never that good and they had a pretty tough time of it, and they just can't stand it when they see someone actually enjoying life and being nice to others. So they piss on everything, mostly things they know nothing about. Because it does not matter to them what it's about, they just want to piss on it.

These are the same people that have everything figured out and they have a solution for everything-piss on it.

I stopped getting annoyed about them years ago-now I just shake my head and feel sorry for them. It must really suck to be them. I want to be there when they find out they have been totally wrong, just so I can see the confused look on their faces.

I'm with Pugsy - I hate it when things get this ugly here, but I know how moderated forums can be. And, I respect that this forum is Johnny's and he can run it however he sees fit. If people don't like it, they can leave. What really "gets" me though is that I can almost guarantee that the people that keep asking him to change it are the same people who would be furious and offended if anyone told them how to do something or run something of their own. They think they know better and decide to tell everyone else how to do things.

And I'm sorry -- how is using the 'f' word, even to make a point, okay? Don't you think that IF Johnny had a heavier hand in this that you would have been banned for that? Would you even dare use that word to your colleagues or coworkers? Of course not, but on the internet, EVERYBODY can indulge in a fantasy of being an asshole and not be held accountable for it.

The real world isn't a great place these days, with a lot of people that were not raised or taught how to behave now having children of their own. And it's only getting worse each generation. To expect the internet to be a place of high standards is both clueless and stupid.

I'm sorry, in my adult world where I work with all social workers and nurses, we actually are pretty damn nice to one another. You are right, I am better suited to a community where people treat each other with respect.

so, just out of curiosity, are you pretty damn nice and respectful to nurses that skip steps, give the wrong meds to people, pour NG tube contents down the patients side, don't clean their IV ports... basically, the ones that compromise patient care?

I don't work in a hospital, NF, AL, etc. But to answer your question, no, you have to earn respect.

Actually my coworkers and I do use the F word frequently in a joking manner. Would I ever use it to my kids or mother, not in a million years. Would I use it to people on the internet who are making fun of me because I think it's terrible how they berate others, put them down, make fun of them, apparently. I guess I just got to the point where I was tired of being bullied for thinking people could talk without being condescending...and I brought out the worst word ever.

I don't believe the language you used has anything to to with respect. I really dislike seeing a word that implies sexual assault so how is that respectful. I assume you must be different to your coworkers than what we see.
On this forum you learn who is who and take what helps and ignore the other. And then you have many trolls that only come to stir things up but never respond back. I have come to enjoy all the different perspectives and I believe this is the best place to get the information you need.

What language I used? What word implies sexual assault? Are you talking about 'fuck' ? I don't think that implies assault or non-consensual. I don't think the word fuck is disrespectful, it's definitely vulgar, and not even something I've ever said before in an online forum. I'll apologize for using it. But I can't apologize for thinking a lot of people are on here just to be condescending to others and especially new members. Unfortunately, this may well be the best place to get into. I get being rude to trolls, I just don't get how someone immediately assumes that someone is a troll.

If this was a moderated fourm ... I think most of your posts would have been removed shortly after they appeared.

Here's the thing. I don't get how people "standing up for themselves" makes any sense on the internet. If you honestly believe you are being bullied, on the INTERNET, standing up for yourself isn't going to solve it or change a thing. IF you are, in fact, being bullied (and I'm not saying one way or the other), these anonymous people on the internet are only going to come after you harder if you "stand up for yourself."

You just HAVE to learn to understand that dealing with people in the internet is NOT the same IRL. And you cannot expect the same kind of results as you would IRL. It's just not going to happen. And the sooner some of you accept that, the happier you will be.
