Hello. I have been using a P10 nasal pillow (about 4 months) but 3 days ago switched to a Mirage Quattro FFM (issues with dry mouth with pillow). What I noticed after checking my numbers, my events increased as noted below.
P10 average about 0.3
FFM average about 1.0
I know that I don't have a large sample size but I wonder if anyone else has seen these changes when going to a FFM. I don't think the numbers are bad and probably better than servier dry mouth.
I use a chin strap and heated humidifier with the pillow with humidifier set to 5-6. still dry mouth. With the FFM setting humidifier to 4 and no dry mouth.
Sorry to ramble on but and thoughts would be appreciated.
Mike

The difference is statistically insignificant.mal59 wrote:P10 average about 0.3

Many dedicated CPAPers would be thrilled to get an AHI average of 1.0. I feel very well if mine is 2.0 or less.
Did you compare leak lines?

Re: FFM vs nasal pillow events
I agree that your numbers look great. For me, I had to increase pressure with a FFM (over a nasal mask) because my numbers jumped higher than my untreated numbers! I'm not a mouth breather (according to 2 sleep studies, 2 titrations and my data) but I got severe dry mouth with a FFM that I don't get with nasal pillows or nasal mask. So FFMs aren't the best option for me. What can I say, I'm just weird!

Sounds like you had no clue what you are doing. If you are not a mouth breather, you have no reason to use a FFM.
Re: FFM vs nasal pillow events
Perhaps you should get a clue about judging people without knowing the whole story. I went through 7 masks with my DME in my first month because we couldn't get anything to fit correctly that I could wear. That's the reason we tried the FFM. People do choose to use different masks for different reasons, not only for the reason you think is appropriate.Hang Fire wrote:curems wrote:I'm not a mouth breather (according to 2 sleep studies, 2 titrations and my data)curems wrote:with a FFM
