Anyone have an opinion on the snap and the swift mask

Post by kilrush_@hotmail.com » Wed Feb 23, 2005 12:18 pm

Hi, I just talk to my DME, he suggested I try the snap by Tiara and the swift. Could somebody enlighten me on either mask? Thanks a bunch, Mary

I love the Swift! Resmed makes the best interfaces out there. I have not tried the Snapp but it seems to me that the hose would pull on the chamber.

I use the swift, about 4 wks now. It takes getting used to, but seems ''ok' for most part.

I don't like anything ON MY FACE, whatsoever, so am phobic about other types of either ff masks or nasal masks.

One complaint re: swift, I am a side sleeper, but am NO MORE, that sucker moves, so I wind up having to sort of hang my head out past the pillow edge, with swift in mid air so to speak and try to side sleep that way. It does cause a leak in the n. pillows, so I do wake up. Not bad, but is a bug I think of the system. I do need a chin strap, another whole story......

I'm not quite there to taping my mouth yet.
!!

Good luck...

Interestingly, I have no such problems with the Swift, and in fact quite enjoy it as the first mask I've tried which *DOESN'T* seem to leak on me, when I toss and turn.

So, as always, YMMV.

Liam, who until this thread hadn't even HEARD of the snap.

I second Liam's comment. No matter how I toss and turn the Swift doesn't leak; and this is with the straps very loose. I sleep on a "memory foam" pillow and sleep with my head on the pillow and find no problem with the Swift shifting.

I have no experience with the SNAPP.
