I'm looking for a Philips Amara Full Face CPAP Mask...

Post by YouTube » Thu Jun 11, 2015 11:46 am

I'm in a bind. My face mask busted on me last night, and it's a part that you can't replace (the right forehead strap - the bottom plastic part snapped off).

You need a prescription to get a new one however, but my insurance ran out and I can't afford to go see a doctor for a new prescription because I don't have health insurance.

Is there any way around this? Does anyone know someone who would be able to sell me this:

I need it in a medium.

1) click on 'replacement parts' and buy the part you need.

2) go on amazon, get some "bondic" and fix the one you have.

3) go to home depot and get some plastic epoxy, mix up a bit, and fix the one you have. I've done it, makes it stronger than it was in the first place. I used this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Loctite-0-85 ... /100371824 it's better than the superglue really liquid stuff, because not only does it stick back where the broken bit was, it allows you to put a little extra around it to strengthen a weak point. last mask I fixed with some of that stuff, I also added reinforcement to the unbroken side.

4) also, mask parts on ebay, and amazon.

Are you sure that your current prescription is not still active? My DME has had the same prescription on file for me for 4 years.. You couls also check with your local Craigslist. I have seen great values out there.

If you're not part of the solution you're just scumming up the bottom of the beaker!
